Siam 2 Thai Restaurant

About Siam 2 Thai Restaurant

A 17th century building, now a charming Thai restaurant, in the heart of historic Hastings. Delicious, authentic Thai food.

We also specialise in wines and provide info on local events.

Siam 2 Thai Restaurant Description

Fine Thai cuisine originates in our royal palaces but there is a lot of regional variety. Our menu offers dishes from various parts of Thailand and we can adapt our recipes to suit different tastes.

Our Thai staff have had many years experience in the field of Thai cuisine and of the restaurant business in the English-speaking world.

We take part in many local events and are particularly well known for the high quality of our food and for our extensive wine list.

For the annual Eat Global festival (for which we have won a Best Service Award) we put on a display of traditional Thai dancing and a special signature dish. During the Seafood & Wine weekend we add a number of extra fish and seafood dishes to our menu, and while the Jack-in-the-Green festivities are in full swing we cook outside the restaurant, as we do at other times in the summer months.

Our website events page always carries information about what is happening on the local food & wine scene including the 1066 Wine & Food Festival taking place from 14 to 29 May this year, which is the 950th anniversary year of the Battle of Hastings.

Every Tuesday evening we offer a delicious and authentic Chinese menu prepared and cooked by Chinese chefs (bookings only).

An enthusiast reviews the new Doctor Who Blu-Ray set (Season 18):
“A Weekend with Waterhouse” follows comedian Toby Hadoke on a visit to Hastings, where we drop in on Matthew Waterhouse (Adric). Matthew invites Toby into his apartment, sharing his book collection, his love of jazz, and stopping for dinner at a favourite Thai restaurant [Siam 2] and taking in a jazz show at a wine bar [Porters – Hello George - we thought you ought to have a bit of the action!].

"Why don't you re-post some of your nice earlier pictures?" All right, every week or so, we'll do that. And since it's nearly spring, here's one captioned 'Flowers at Siam 2'.

Fat Tuesday. Here's a lovely picture of Thai carnival food. Mmmm! But you won't get fat at Siam 2. Portions are famously generous but Thai food uses no dairy and only natural ingredients; so it's naturally flavoursome. And we cook each dish individually to order and specification. Delicious! "Love Hastings, love Siam 2."

Fat Tuesday - just a week away. Here they are getting ready for Mardi Gras in Thailand. Come on Hastings!

Spring in the air once more? Here’s Alexandra Park in bloom. Someone said we’d called it Alexander Park on Facebook. Definitely not, but it’s nice to have a reason to post a picture. We love flowers in Thailand too.
Laid out by Robert Marnock from 1878 and opened by Princess Alexandra in 1882. Beautiful.
“Love Hastings, love Siam 2.” Not just a pretty Thai restaurant!

Hint of spring in the air? Our spring rolls just keep on getting better and better. We make them ourselves. Perfect starters. Come and enjoy while spring's in the air!

Memories of last year's famous Hastings Jazz & Blues Fest organised by our friend Mr Music Man for the Winkle Club. This year's dates for your diary: 1-2 June. Call in for more details on this and other Hastings happenings. "Not just a pretty Thai restaurant!"

Sunday. Day of rest. And to enjoy a Thai curry evening at ours. This Sunday evening we're introducing our special Asian Fusion curry - a bit like an Indian with SE Asian touches. Plus our regular Penang, Mussamun (with optional pineapple), and the famous Thai Green ("Probably the best Thai Green Curry in the world"). Choices: chicken, duck, beef, king prawn or vegetarian. Resist everything except the temptation. See you on Sunday!
Lovely beers and wines too. 😜

"OK, Siam 2, I'll drink a dram with you on Burns Night if you can answer these questions."
1. Did Burns really like whisky? Yes - "Wi' tippeny we fear nae evil; Wi' usquabae we’ll face the devil!"
... 2. What language did he use? Rude. No, seriously, Lowland Scots!
3. Can you understand it? Yes.
4. What's your favourite Burns poem? 'John Anderson my jo'
5. Would he have liked Hastings? Definitely !!!
High Five! We've a Thai 'whisky' too. Mekhong. Enjoy! Here's a bonnie wee lassie with a bottle! Click on her for a better view (of the bottle).

Burns Night on Friday. We can't manage the haggis but we've a good range of single malts. So if, like Burns, you fancy something warming (to eat, we mean!) and a wee dram, look no further.
Siam 2. Not just a pretty Thai restaurant!

Beast from the East returning? But all our dishes are beauties from the east. Here's the Thai take on Sweet & Sour. Nice with sticky rice ... and a Beerlao! Come and enjoy!

Quiet month, January. Not necessarily! Help us celebrate our 15th birthday. Next week (14-18 Jan) we're offering 15% off all our bubblies: champagne, cava and prosecco! Don't miss out!

Cold nights coming. Here's a favourite winter warmer - our famous Tom Yum Talay. Like Tom Yum Koong (king prawns) but with additional seafood. As spicy as you like. And perfect with a cold beer!

It's beginning to feel a lot like ... there's a New Year's Eve coming on! This is what it looks like in Thailand.
But there's delicious Thai food to celebrate all year round at Siam 2!
