Simonside Outdoor Adventure

Just doing some sums and I realised that Simonside have been actively recycling our card, plastics, cans and bottles for 13 years and with our 1100 litre bin collected every two weeks = 26 bins x 13 years = 338 bins full of recycling that could have ended up in a land fill or the water system which is the equivalent of 371,800 litres. Quite proud of that! Maybe we should all try harder to preserve what we love, the mountains, the oceans, the rivers and forests.

The Lead Education BTECs have been practicing some navigation skills today; compass bearings, map symbols and route planning. Only the Cleadon-Exmoor ponies didn't think it was too cold! 🍃🐎🍃

Crisp November weather but a cracking few days last week with the Phoenix Project, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service , Thurston OEC. A challenging Abseil in Cathedral Quarry, a walk on the majestic Old Man Of Coniston and a early morning paddle! Well Done Ladies.

Durham to Finchale Abbey, river levels crazy low at .28m but made the river challenging to navigate but the autumnal feel made the day with BTEC group.

Well, it’s been two weeks but we are open once again with approx 70 new routes at all grades to try. Open from 5:30pm.

Went there for an activity afternoon with Tony and Kirsty who were incredibly supportive and helped me reach the top of the wall.

Well what can I say just returned from an amazing team building weekend spent at akenshaw cottages. From absailing, bell boating, archery,orienteering and climbing the team of staff made it fun. Waited on hand & foot, food was fab and some great memories made. Thank you Martin & staff you were all fab :) Mrs Q x

Was looking for an activity for my 8 year old to do and was told about simonside wall. He loves it, the staff are friendly too.

Staff are very welcoming friendly and supportive, my son is very shy and nervous in new environments but he was chatting to the staff, he was smiling, he loved it.

Kids loved it had a very good time staff very helpful and friendly.

If you or your offspring are into climbing, but not sure about scaling Everest just yet! Then pop along here and get to climb a wall, with all the kit and safety harnesses. You'll enjoy it.

Fantastic climbing centre, very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. A vas amount of climbing walls to suit all abilities. Highly recommended.

Excellent facility. We visited with our two children 6 & 9. They really loved the experience and we found the staff to be very friendly, informative and patient. They taught us how to belay and I even had a turn climbing myself. We will definitely be back. Lots of fun in a safe environment. Thank you for introducing us to something we can enjoy as a family.

Been the last 2 weeks with 22nd Brownsea scouts. Staff were brilliant with the kids and very helpful. Would definitely recommend. Thanks guys x

Attended tonight's taster night, it was fantastic, my grandson thoughly enjoyed the climbs. Delish BBQ lovely place helpful friendly staff. Fantastic for kids. Highly recommended. �
