Simple Send-offs is a low-cost cremation service founded to help ease the financial burden on families at a very vulnerable time in their lives or for those people who don’t want a big fuss when their time comes. Our fixed fee of £1,795.00 for a cremation on the Wirral is inclusive of:

According to the SunlifeDirect Cost of Dying Report 2015, if funeral costs continue to rise at the same rate we have seen over the past decade, by 2020 the average simple funeral will cost £4,620. At the moment the national average cost of a simple funeral is £3,693.00 – a Simple Send-offs direct cremation costs £1,795.00, which is less than half the price. This is just one of the statistics that encouraged us to start Simple Send-offs; we want to give people the choice bet...ween a traditional funeral and a slightly different approach which is much more affordable.
Having worked in a high street funeral directors, I know first-hand that there is a definite need for a service like this. I used to get regular phone calls from people who didn’t want a big fussy funeral or couldn’t afford one. It would have been great to have been able to tell them there was somewhere else where they could go to but at the time Simple Send-offs didn’t exist – but it does now!
Almost everyone we talk to about Simple Send-offs thinks it’s a really good service but we are very aware that isn’t everyone’s choice. Some people may think it’s a ‘cheap’ funeral but it’s not, it’s as respectful and compassionate as any other funeral, it’s just a lot simpler.

Had you ever heard of a Direct Cremation before we appeared here on FB? It’s amazing how many people have no idea about it although recently David Bowie and Prince both had direct cremations just days after they passed away.
There are lots of different reasons why people choose a direct cremation rather than a traditional funeral and these are just a few of them – i) some people either don’t have any particular beliefs, or they don’t want the fuss of a formal funeral where... the body of the deceased is present ii) the person who has died may not have any family left to celebrate their life iii) sometimes it’s the only type of funeral that people can afford; or there are others who simply don't want to spend the extra thousands of pounds that they would have to spend on a traditional funeral and would rather leave their money to their families or friends iv) if someone lives in a different country and dies here, they can be cremated and their ashes sent back home without having to go to the huge expense of repatriating the deceased
Religious or memorial services can still be held after a direct cremation has taken place if families so choose. Some families arrange a time to meet and scatter the ashes in a place that was dear to the deceased or we can arrange for the ashes to be scattered on the garden of remembrance at the Crematorium. There are lots of different ways to remember loved ones and just because the body of the person who has died is no longer there, it doesn't mean that a celebration of their lives cannot take place.
A direct cremation is a 'back to front' funeral really but it doesn't necessarily mean that the celebration of their life has to be on the same day as the cremation - it can be the next day, next week, next month or next year - whenever or whatever the family decides.

I could go on and on about the positives of a direct cremation (and I probably do) but I’m sure you’ve had enough for today! Maybe I talk too much but if I don't tell you about it you'll never know!
