We know that making the decision about which high school to send your child to can be difficult. Our video presents our school’s vibrancy, ethos and family feel, and includes student, parent and Headteacher interviews. If you would like to arrange a tour, please contact us on 01925 636414. We look forward to seeing you.

Mrs Scott-Herron had a lovely surprise yesterday morning when Year 8 student Emma Willcock presented her with this amazing bunting that she had made as part of her ASDAN course. Emma said “I made this for your office so it has a calming influence when you are working hard and I also wanted it to make you smile and feel happy”. Mrs Scott-Herron said: "This has made my day and the fact that you thought of me makes me feel very honoured. I will ensure it goes up straight away." What a lovely start to the day.

A year on, our Boteler Blossoms garden is blooming and looking fabulous after its revamp from Sellafield last year. Thank you to Sellafield and to Andy from Eden Gardens for making it look so great! It's a wonderful and colourful space and we are very grateful to everyone for their hard work and support.

We work closely with the Cheshire Youth Commission, and they are now open for the next round of applications. Anyone aged 14-25 years who is currently resident of the Cheshire policing area - including Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Halton and Warrington, can join. They are looking for people who will be good team players, who will be committed to the project and willing to do all the activities involved. They are also very keen to ensure that the Youth Commission is made up of a diverse group of young people who broadly reflect the make-up of the local population, including those who may have direct experience of the police and justice system. For more information please follow the link to see the available opportunities.

The University of Oxford’s Worcester College have launched a new project called The Bookshelf.
This project is all about sharing books that they love about their subjects with you. They suggest books that they love - you tell them what you think of them. Every term they will release a new list of six books that their tutors and academics would like to share with you. If you are in Year 11, 12 or 13 at a UK state school and would like to read one of the books on the bookshelf... and be part of this project, simply email admissions@worc.ox.ac.uk telling them which book you would like to read and which school you are at, and providing a postal address that they can send the book to. They will send the book (free of charge) to you, and in return - no later than 3 weeks after receiving the book - you will write a review of the book (of no more than 300 words) that they will publish on their website. More details are available from their website, including tips on how to write your review.

Elle only joined us a few weeks ago and is already an integral part of our Boteler Family. We are very proud of her achievements and her positive attitude since joining us. We are looking forward to her extending her talents by educating young people within our school and beyond. She is real inspiration.

In today's assembly our Year 10 students were lucky enough be addressed by the former rugby league player Adrian Morley. He came to speak to our students about his career and how his hard work led to his success. Adrian played as a prop and second row forward in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. He played for Great Britain and England international, for the Leeds Rhinos (with whom he won the 1999 Challenge Cup), Sydney Rooster, (winning the 2002 NRL Premiership), Bradford Bulls ...(winning the Super League X in 2005), Warrington Wolves (winning the 2009, 2010 and 2012 Challenge Cups) and the Salford Red Devils. With a reputation as a 'tough, uncompromising competitor', he was the first British player to win both the NRL and Super League.
During the talk Adrian was completely down to earth and modest about his career. He emphasised how hard work and commitment leads to achievement and meeting your goals. It was very inspirational to listen to.
Many thanks to Warrington Youth Club for arranging the visit. They are currently promoting the NCS programme which will be recruiting soon. NCS helps young people build their confidence and gain new skills while having fun and giving back to their community – the best possible springboard for their future. Whether they’re about to start sixth form or college, or preparing to enter the working world, signing up to NCS is described as one of the best decisions a young person can make.

All our students are precious to us. Tragically, on 2nd June 2009 we lost Temi as he drowned in Appleton Reservoir when swimming with friends on a hot day. Temi will always be a part of our Boteler Family and we remember him with fondness; his infectious smile and wonderful personality that touched the lives of all he met.
We hope that with the work we do on raising awareness of the dangers of swimming in reservoirs and canals, we can prevent further tragedies from happening.
Temi and his family remain in our hearts, thoughts and prayers always.
