We were looked after by, Steward, from the moment we entered the restaurant. Great service, every dish was marvellous and the views of the river were memorial; unfortunately we picked the worst night in 8 years to visit, snow! 😀

User

We had dinner here on Saturday evening - booked some weeks in advance with the request of a window table (if possible) as we had friends with us who were from out of the area and wanted to impress them with the views. They were not disappointed and nor were we as the views, table setting, service, food and wine were all absolutely first class! My only comment, and this is by no means a criticism, is that the menu was quite limited and it would have been nice to have had a few more choices on it, however, what we had was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Well done Six!

User

Took my fiancée for some food - the steak was amazing, as was the cheesecake. Staff were very polite and pleasant. The restaurant area was immaculate, and the open plan kitchen let you see what was going on. Great experience!

User

The two of us in the window seat reminiscent of the past into early age staff are brilliant explained the menu food was delicious price is about right thank you for the experience

User

Must be the best meal we have ate in the UK.

Staff were amazing.

Seriously a first class service.

User

I wanted to say a huge thank you for what you’ve done for my parents. They were due to attend your Steak Masterclass on Sunday but had to cancel at the last minute as my Dad had a stroke on Saturday night. You were emailed- just to let you know that they wouldn’t be there and you emailed my Mam with well wishes and told her that the booking’s safe and been moved to May. Honestly, we weren’t expecting it at all and are so grateful. It’s been an awful few days and this has really given them a boost. A genuine act of kindness. Thank you so much.

User

Had dinner for two there on Friday evening. The cocktails before and after we’re amazing, food was delicious and service was friendly and attentive. We could not have asked for anything more. Fabulous setting and fabulous staff!

User

Had an early dinner ahead of a concert at the Sage, which meant we were under time pressure. Got a great table for two near the kitchen and with views of the quay and river.

Things started well with timely order-taking by very personable waiter, but then a long wait for starters - turned out the order had been mislaid.

The staff, who knew we had a concert to make, were very apologetic, gave us some freebies by way of sorry and went into overdrive. Starters came and were excellent, and everyone kept a close eye on timings thereafter, judging things so that we weren't hurried but things kept moving nicely. Our mains were similarly superb and we had just enough time for a rhubarb dessert and some local cheese, with five minutes to settle the bill.

Mistakes will happen but I maintain that it's how places recover and put things right that's important. Everyone at Six were absolute stars.

User

Had an absolute amazing Birthday Celebration and delicious meal in your Private Dining area, with stunning views over the Tyne, yesterday. Top marks to all concerned, especially your delightful friendly staff who made our evening go so smoothly - very attentive.

Highly recommend you will not be disappointed 👍

User

Had a meal one night and drinks. Very tasty caviar and cocktails, great service. Great views

User

Had a fantastic meal, waitress very good and made the experience.

User

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great for special occasions (not rich enough to make it a regular thing)

User

Great food, great service nice to be able to treat yourself from time to time.

User

Great food, great service and great views! The restaurant was busy, however nothing was too much trouble for Stu who was serving us. Starters and main courses were delicious and the chocolate orange mousse with salted caramel was to die for! We ordered a second bottle of wine and were told to take our time over ordering dessert, that there was no hurry. From start to finish we had an amazing evening! Thanks!

User

We were celebrating my birthday with family The service was exceptional and the food first class will definitely be back

User

Overall I was disappointed and I have given a 'Good' recommendation only because 'Fair' is too harsh. The restaurant was very busy but all of our meals arrived together and in good time. The views were fabulous. The staff were cheerful, polite and helpful. I had the slow cooked beef and the first mouthful I thought was delicious but then I realised if was very salty. The tables reminded me of a cafeteria but maybe that's the modern style. There were no materials in the room to absorb the noise so I couldn't hear what the people on the other side of the table were saying. Two of the four toilets ladies toilets were not usable owing to the disgusting habits of some customers but when I reported this, the member of staff looked very concerned and addressed the issue immediately. Perhaps more regular toilet checks should be implemented when the restaurant is very busy.

User

Table requested with river view...didn't get (booked way in advance). Light out above table so couldn't see too well. Waiter very inattentive and dismissive....other staff were lovely so no reflection on the staff as a whole. Food was ok but disappointed as I have had far better at many other establishments in Newcastle. Was meant to be a special meal but left feeling very let down. Won't be back

User

Great location and views. Staff were pleasant enough but the food was dreadful. Little taste to most of our meals and when it did it was really really salty! Medium rare steak needed a chainsaw. Dry fish.. Kale that was like rubber. So many great places to eat in Newcastle and this isn't one.

User

Never met such rude people as the staff in this restaurant. Absolutely horrific customer service. Bitchy women who work there. Totally ruined my friends birthday party. I would

Not recommended to come here.
