SIXT doesnt rent cars at London Park Lane. This service has been closed for months. SIXT will allow you to rent a car and then the day before send you a text to tell you that in fact they no longer rent cars from Park Lane and that you'll just need to hop in a cab with all of your bags for a short jaunt over to Victoria, get dropped off in the back of the station, walk into the station with all of your bags and secure a car, to walk back out of the station to get your vehicle. Ridiculous. Why not just say you dont rent at Park Lane then people wont book there in the first place and would have a choice of where to pick up a car instead of telling them via text the day before.

The interior of the car was dirty and smelled unpleasant. The instructions to find the car from the rental desk were hopeless. The rental officer was otherwise pleasant and the car was otherwise fairly new and in good nick. Worst of all, SIXT had provided a voucher for a COVID cancellation (all good there) but then charged about £50 to use the voucher for a new booking. This was due to the booking system. It pretends to let you ‘pay now’ on booking (which I wanted to do, partly with the voucher) and charges extra to pay later. You cannot pay now when using a voucher so have to pay extra to pay later. This is a way for SIXT to recover what it pretends to refund, and blame the ‘computer system’. Fix the system.

What you see is not what you get.

Very friendly service but...

I specifically chose, requested and confirmed in person, prior to signing, that the car I was renting was a 4x4. It quickly became apparent this was not the case. Upon returning the car all I got was "sorry". When I wrote to them to complain I was told I was provided with a car, no refund possible, in part or whole. The fact I was not given a car with the specification I explicitly asked for was ignored throughout. I am now filing with the small claims court.

I rented a car for one day and unluckily got a flat tyre.

I called them to see how they could help us and I had to wait literally 8 hours for a simple service which was a tow that dropped us WITH the car at our home for them to charge an extra day.
Then one more full working day to send someone to put a spare wheel and I had to drove the car back to them, 2 days with that car at my home with the flat tyre.
When they sent me the invoice I was charged for two full days (£179) plus a fee for the unpaid extra day.

£500 more for the tyre and marks that the car had before I just damaged the tyre and scratched the rim.
Do you find it fair?

Wasted money and time when I just wanted to pay the £97 to rent a car for a few hours.
