Badminton week complete!!!! As you all know this is the busiest week of the year for me and this year was no different. 28 horses to look after in 6 different locations, working 15 hours day plus then going on foal watch in the evening checking the pregnant mare every couple of hours through out the night! I’ve ridden A LOT, driven hundreds of miles and walked over 200,000 steps! But......I’ve loved every minute! Feeling tired....yes....feel accomplished....absolutely! I’ve totally smashed it again!!!! Go me!!!! 🙌💪🏻👏🏻🤩👌😀

A little inspiration for a day like today.....🌧

Hi all I hope you are well! So sorry for my silence but as some of you know sadly my horse had a wee accident and has taken up a lot of my time lately. She skidded in the mud into a metal 5 bar gate getting her foot stuck and pulling the gate off it’s hinges and falling over with it on top of her and was non weight barring on her near fore to start with, when I got the call I honestly thought her leg was broken! She incurred multiple leg wounds and had to have staples and sti...tches. BUT......she has made a remarkable recovery!! I honestly can’t believe it! The first pics were on the day it happened the second are 48 hours later, she walked up sound the next day and trotted up sound a day later. The vet gave me the ok to ride and just 4 days on I was back in the saddle and she was sound as a pound!!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 This really is a miracle healing horse! I apologise to all I’ve not replied to, I will be replying tonight, I hope you understand I’ve been a bit preoccupied. As always thanks so so so much for all your support! You guys really are great! ❤️❤️

I know this weather is putting a strain on all us equestrians but we need to take a positive from every negative and mine is this beautiful photo I managed to get of me and my girl in the snow today! It’s the simple things that keep us going! Keep going and stay warm! Spring is coming and my gosh don’t we deserve it!!!!

Do you utilise your warm up before a schooling session???? Having taught another pony club rally this weekend and speaking to some of my clients....... my biggest question to people is.... what do you do to warm up your horse and why? The main response I’ve had is.... Have a walk, trot and canter and then crack on. But does that actually set you and your horse up to get the best out of a schooling session? With that in mind I’ve decided to offer lessons specific to warm up e...xercises or I come and ride your horse and feel what they need to give you a warm up programme. I know some of my followers are miles away so for you I’m offering at a small cost for you to send me videos and descriptions of you and your horse so I can send you suggestions for warm up exercises. I can’t wait to see the response to this as the warm up is what sets us up!😃

Got my back on board Lisa Ware’s gorgeous blond one today after he’s had a bit of time off. He was such a good boy. Falling on the forehand but no where near as much as he has, can’t wait to progress him whilst Lisa has a lovely holiday in the sun for the next few weeks! Have a lovely time I’ll take good care of your boy ❤️😍🤩 #theblondone

So that’s it, just ridden Wills for the last time. Ive had this wonderful ride for the past 2 years and absolutely adore him! He’s moving to a new loan home and I wish him all the best but my gosh I’ll miss him like crazy! Very emotional saying good bye to him this evening in the end I had to say see you later bud rather than goodbye. Jane Butcher and Victoria Butcher I can’t thank you enough for giving me the ride on him! We have learnt so much together. I’ll miss you bud! ❤️💔 #wills #myboomerangehorse #theothergingeroneinmylife #teamginger

The winter: What a horrible time of year for us Equestrian’s....... the horizontal rain, the bitterly cold wind, the frozen ground, the mud, the chilblains, the burning ears, the numb hands and feet...... sometimes we all think why do we do it?!? We do it for the feeling we get for that correct canter lead, that correct bend, that correct lead after a jump, in face not just the lead after a jump but getting over that jump in the first place!! The pleasure we feel at the end of a good schooling session, the small progression on a youngster or the small progression on a veteran. We do it because we love it and because the highs out way the lows. The spring is in sight everyone! We have almost made it!!!! 🙏👍🤞🤩

Where do I start.... well what a lovely, friendly, caring and professional person you are Shelley. Everything is done to a high standard and no matter how big or small the job she will be there. I have worked with Shelley previously and she is very efficient and through! I would not hesitate in leaving my horse in her care long or short term AND I would be more than happy to get her to keep him ticking over for me. I have witnessed Shelley riding many horses from ponies to event horses and she always works with them not against them getting the best results! I can not recommend Shelley enough keep on doing what your doing your amazing! X
