We had a customer call the workshop recently with an all too common issue. The customer complained of a loss of power from their modern turbo diesel car. The customer said the car was driving like it wasn't a turbo any more! We asked them to drop the car in as soon as possible so we could have a look at it which they did.
They were worried that it could be a turbo issue or maybe an injector problem.... The customer dropped the car in that morning and we got it straight on the ramp. It ended up being an all too common problem for modern diesels, particularly if they are used mostly for short journeys. It was the DPF.
What's the DPF (diesel particulate filter)? A diesel particulate filter (or DPF) is a device designed to remove diesel particulate matter or soot from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. It's basically a filter in your exhaust and they get blocked or clogged up. They are designed to clear themselves on longer journeys when the exhaust heats up, but often they don't. In this case, it was a simple fix and we had the car back to the customer the same day.

Shovelling the snow so we are ready to be open at 11am as normal.

Very impressed with the professional and genuine service from SJN since I purchased an Audi from them a few weeks ago. Minor niggles have been resolved without hesitation and the guys in the workshop were really friendly and helpful (and honest!) when I brought the car back in. The whole team are a credit to the business, and having briefly dealt with Malcolm the owner, I can understand why. Would not hesitate to recommend or but from again in the future.

Very friendly sales staff, Good vibe in the show room made to feel very welcome. I am very fussy with cars, I pointed out a small issue with the paint on the boot and they got it repaired to a very high standard!. Any problems they are straight on the case with no dramas!, would advise anyone looking at getting a new used car to give these guys a go!

Took my car back for a check on a fault light that popped up on my dashboard. Well what can I say? Once again the service staff, just like the sales staff before, were very courteous and professional. Problem solved car perfect and not a penny to pay as their warranty is worth the paper it is written on.

Picked up my car today and what can I say . There was no pressure from the salesmen, let me take it out for a test drive on my own and take as long as I wanted looking over it . The car was due a full service and being a Subaru it wasn't going to be cheap but they did everything the service book said without question . I've had my new car for 3 weeks now.. So far so good. When i first went to look at the car, there was no pressure, had a walk around.. Felt like i was in my own time space and not being rushed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.. When viewing my car had a small but noticeable dent.. When we addressed this they promised to sort this out and when on arrival to pick the car up it was like magic.. It was gone! Would highly recommend coming here for a stress free car shopping experience.

I'm a very fussy person when it comes to cars being a petrol head and working in the finance industry. I challenged Malcolm and his team to ensure he gave the best experience a customer could have. I drove from Dudley all the way to Northampton as I wanted to ensure I recieved excellent customer service, I'm pleased to confirm they did not let me down.



I bought a vehicle with all issues (only cosmetic) on 03/02/2017 which were corrected to a good standard. Time will tell if the car will be reliable but Malcolm gave me two years 'gold' warranty to diffuse any fears I had.

Brought my lovely new car from them. They serviced, cleaned, put new brake pads and a new tyre on the vehicle at no extra cost, to make sure it was at it's best.



Not only that but because the previous owner had it mot end of march (so they couldn't mot it) they have given me next year's mot for free.



All the staff were friendly and took the time to chat to us whilst we waited. There was no pressure for the sale either. Highly recommend these guys if you are car shopping.

I've bought my car there last year- Citroen C4. There were some issues with the car but they've informed me about them before and fixed them before I've got it. Along the way there were a minor issues with electrics and SJN fixed it under warranty. Waiting time was a bit long but I've received courtesy car (not the best but still ok). Service was always very friendly and I may buy my next car from them :)
