Skelmersdale Prize Band are a brass band from West Lancashire, currently competing in third section In Jan 21. We are a fun, sociable but hard working brass band that enjoys doing concerts, walking days, contests and above all having fun while we do it! !

Skelmersdale Prize Band are a strong outfit of brass and percussion players from West Lancashire, playing under Musical Director Karl Stott.

Rehearsing on two evenings each week in our own bandroom in Skelmersdale, we enjoy making music, having plenty of fun, and performing to audiences in both the local and wider area.

The band are currently competing in the fourth section, but thanks to strong recent contest results a promotion into the third section is secured for 2016.

Skelmersdale Band are also proud to have developed the West Lancashire Youth Band who rehearse on Tuesday evenings. Under the baton of Jon-Paul Coulson, young and developing players can learn to make music in a fun and encouraging environment.

The band enjoy playing at a wide variety of engagements, including formal concerts, festivals, walking days and marches, fetes, charity and fundraising events, weddings and private functions - as well as participating in a number of contests throughout the year.
