We were lucky enough to have the winning raffle ticket 114 and have just enjoyed our prize of afternoon tea, overnight stay in a glamping pod and breakfast. Everything was fantastic - parmo tea and cakes were top notch, pod was lovely, bed was really comfy and pod was warm plus the hot tub was perfect, breakfast this morning was delicious. Dave and Jill are excellent hosts. Can't recommend highly enough. Thank you.

Mad hatters tea party absolutely brilliant and fantastic value for money based on the entertainment value alone! So funny laughed from beginning to end! Really really enjoyed by all! Can't wait for Charlie and the chocolate factory! Would also recommend the afternoon tea with Santa too absolutely magical for the children and again really funny! The attention to detail on both was fab, decorated rooms to make it look so wonderful! Thank you so much! Lovely memories made at Skelton Mill.

User

Lovely setting to sit outside on a sunny day enjoying a drink. The service is really friendly and fast. Having stopped for breakfast there some time ago when it was fairly quiet, its clear the place is doing very well now as it was packed out at the weekend.

User

Been here several times for afternoon teas, the mad hatters tea party, haloween, hosted a baby shower here. finaly just got round to doing a review (so sorry)

Stopped the night in one of these lovely pods monday night it was perfect relaxing evening. Bed very soft and comfy deco is plesent on the eyes love the matching covers wallpaper and curtains. Basic tea and coffee essentials which is always a plus and unexpected when you are basicly posh camping.

Hot tub was lovely easy to use and nice and excluded right on the far end near the stream alvia?. Small fire which was perfect only needed it on a hour and it was boiling.

Afternoon tea is beautiful always a large selection of cakes to choose from and more than enough to eat and the same goes with the parmo tea great value for money.

Partys they host are great dave gets involved and stays in character all night. Activity planed evening with surprise critters and visitors, welcome drink and a selection of party food to choose from. Exspecialy loved the mad hatters and can't wait for this years!

Owners dave and gill are always welcoming and go out there way to make your visit a special one. Lovely family run business it's lovely to come back again and again and see what progress has been made. They both truly do put there heart and sole into the place. Can't wait to visit and chat again thankyou both very much xx

User

Was Treated to afternoon tea off my hubby for our wedding anniversary today, the staff are very friendly and food was great the only complaint I have is with the amount of salt that is put on the chips, for someone who doesn't eat salt they were very overpowering and also the amount of salt that was put on my 8 year old son chips.. We had to wipe them before he ate them.. I would say you should give people the option of having salt on there chips or not.. Apart from the salt everything else was spot on.. Your staff are a credit to you and we will definitely be returning in the future x

User

Just been today and had afternoon tea for two. The parmo is very tasty and looked lovely, my only disappointment was that i expected three pairs of cakes instead of six different ones.

The coleslaw was delicious but not enough to share, it came in a small bowl but i was left wanting more. when i looked at some pictures on Facebook you can see that they come in pairs on the three tier plates but ours were just 6 different small pieces, I think there should be a small reduction if you order afternoon tea for 2 people sharing.

User

Today we went for my mother in laws birthing for traditional afternoon tea. Food was gorgeous but was not happy with the staff. They were rude as when whilst we were still eating they began closing the cafe down(it was only 3:20), they were talking loudly to one another and moving furniture placing the chairs on the tables which in my eyes is unhygienic. Then at 3:45 we were rudely interrupted and asked to leave as they wanted to close the cafe. We all still had drinks and were in mid conversation. We appreciate that they were closing at 4 but never have i been asked to leave. Wont be returning as although the food was lovely, there was limited choice as they had ran out of things and the staff were extremely rude and ruined our experience.

User

Just been here for parmo afternoon tea and I couldn't fault the food it was lovely. Things I could fault is the limited car parking space as we had to sit and wait in the car until someone had finished and we had made a booking . Then as we went to pay they said the card machine was broken to be then told by a man (possibly manager) they didn't have a card machine and he was quite rude about it , indicating we could drive to the nearest cash machine which wasn't that close at all! This was a joke to not have been told when booking or even a sign up somewhere. Don't think I've attended somewhere that doesn't have a cash machine and not many people actually carry money around with them these days. Also the shop was closes which was disappointing! Table was far too small to fit everything on which resulting in us struggling to have room to even move our arms to eat and the table wouldn't stop rocking ! All in all I wouldn't rush to go back

User

Attended a baby shower here and was a little disappointed , didn't think that the food served was worth the £200 we paid for it especially as the parmos were served on a baking tray covered with foil which they were all stuck to.

Choice of sandwiches disappointing too , prawn, tuna, egg mayo and cheese savoury and only two plates which would have been between 11 of us. On top of that coffee was extra and that was only a jar of nescafe and a burco boiler !

User

Just been taken out for afternoon tea I can't complain about the quality of food but for 10pp the portion size was atrocious and when we went to pay the owners wife's attitude was out of the gutter we was going to book up to stay overnight in September for my birthday this will not be happening now and I will be telling others to avoid like the plague

User

Well what can i say went to this place for my birthday treat from my son and his wife, they stayed here afew weeks ago and they loved it so wanted to treat me, we were very disappointed with the amount of food we recieved as we only got one 3 tier of food and thought we were getting 2 lots of the 3 tiers of food as there was 4 of us and it was tea for 2 for each set, the food was nice but not enough for 4 ppl 2 yes.Me and my daughter in law went to pay and to complain about what we had got to a member of staff who went and got the lady owner, she was very abrupt and working in a similar job i wouldnt dream of talking to my customers in that way, was told to pay what ever i wanted to pay so i offered her £20 plus our drinks cause to us we got a meal they advertise on there page with only a few cakes more i then said £30 plus drinks even though i didnt want to pay that, she was then very abrupt and said no ill take the full amount plus drinks and ill take your bad reviews. To me they should advertise what ppl are actually getting for tea for 2 as it certainly isn't what you get 2 ladies sat next table got a tea for 2 sunday lunch cost them £20 and looked a good amount and they got it in white plates if we had ordered that we probably would of got the same amount for 4. I cant stress how disappointed i was as the cabins looked lovely and we were going to book a ngt in september the 4 of us for my partners birthday so guess ill have to look else were now and as for recommending this place i wouldnt.
