Simply a very well appointed and run site, which is well placed for the full spectrum of Lakeland activities.

Fab facilities, fab shower and washing facilities and the most amazing laundry room. A lovely extra is the library which i love. Poor tv signal and i had no phone signal anywhere on the site. If it wasnt for the poor phone signal i would give this site a five star undoubtedly. Oh also an amazing well stocked shop. Shame about the ph signal.

It was great to be back here after 34 years. It's still as beautiful as I remembered it. The site is immaculately maintained with every amenity possible catered for. This will be a regular place for us to visit. So it's cheerio not goodye

This has been our family holiday spot since I can remember. At least thirty years now. Love coming here, such a tranquil place and beautifully laid out so that you don't feel like neighbours are on top of you. Really happy to see red squirrels making a return. Often see deer, woodpeckers in the forest behind our van and we've even seen a badger! Great team in the shop and looking after the site.

Lovely site geographically and nice and clean with good facilities. The touring pitches are very cramped though with no clear space between. The touring pitches are also spread out in pockets between the static caravans who make it well known you are not welcome. With kids, we were directed to the area near the playground but had all the charm of a gravel car park where the gypsies had set up. Where we ended up was so tight that none of tourers around us could pitch the guy ropes on awnings because of squeezing in your car next to neighbouring van. If it's empty it's probably quite nice, but I'll not go back again at Easter.

Dont use the Wifi!

Great site, great location, good shop, plentiful and clean amenities. Visited 3 times in 18 months. Was overall happy, hence the revisits. Unfortunately very disappointed this last time.

They advertise the site has Wifi, but it is really poor. Very expensive, with slow and intermittent connectivity.Lack of transparency of cost. my 3 day 1Gb allowance was consumed in 24 hours. I asked the site, who just passed me on to their IT supplier, I raised a case with them to find out why and they just give stock response then ignore you. Seems I wasn't alone with others complaining about the Wifi too.

Don't waste your money as it is a rip off and when there are issues you are just ignored.

As I say, great site and all good when things are okay. You can tell a lot about a company by how they deal with issues and Skelwith just passed the buck to their supplier, who ignore you. They failed to acknowledge that they are providing the service to their customers, who they choose to supply it is up to them.
