Windows 7 is officially End of Life today.
If you're still using Windows 7 on your Desktop PC or Laptop you need to consider your options.
1: Stop using it as an online device very soon. ... 2: Upgrade the device to Windows 10. 3: Replace it with a new device.
If you're a business and have a version of Windows 7 other than Home Edition, you have a 4th option, pay Microsoft for additional support. 1st Year: £50, 2nd Year £100, 3rd Year £200.

🎄Xmas🎄 is over and the phone and PC repairs have begun again. iPhone 6S and 8 Plus screens replaced.

Santa's Elves have been busy helping get some more systems ready for Christmas day.
System 1 is an entry-level gaming system built for use on and after Christmas day. This is based around a Micro ATX motherboard and the Ryzen 5 3400G processor. It will happily play Fortnite at 85 FPS. Images 1-5 show the system being tested, built, Windows 10 installed and Fortnite installed and tested on the system.
System 2 is a switch from Team Blue (Intel) to Team Red (AMD), this was a major system upgrade from a Pentium processor that was about 6 years old and only has 2 cores, going to an Eight Core/16 Thread AMD Ryzen 7 processor. Images 6-10 show the old system with outdated components being removed, the new components tested and installed after the case was cleaned. No game testing on this one but CPU and Graphics were tested.

Personalised Computer Build
If you didn't know I love working with computers. Especially when it comes to designing and building them for myself or my customers.
I was approached by a customer who was having issues playing specific games with his old system. As he was at the point where he was thinking of upgrading his computer we discussed the needs and budget and I helped him choose the components. Once he was happy with the choices made, the items were purchased and I bui...lt the system for him.
The photos below show the process of me putting the major components together and testing them outside of the case and then putting the system together in the case, installing all the necessary software and updates.

Windows 7 - End of Life - 14th Jan 2020!
Some of my customers or their friends and family with still be using Windows 7. Even though it has served us well for over 10 years now and like me, a lot of people preferred it to Windows 8, sadly Microsoft announced that support for Windows 7 is ending at the start of 2020.
It is not the end of the world, however, if you continue to use Windows 7 you will be at a higher risk from viruses and security flaws due to Microsoft no longer... releasing updates for it. You will most likely be receiving messages already about the situation.
