Very friendly and tidy site next to the river, we went at the end of the season but its probably lovely when the river is lower and its warm, but we still had a good weekend watching the kayakers.

Nice campsite next to the river.. does seem to get very busy! Short riverside walk into the village for great food.

3 visits now in a year and will always come back when visiting the area. Lovely situation next to the river and helpful assistance whenever we needed it. Couldn't be better.

Used to be great for kayaking. We used to love campong herebwhen my children first started competitive slalom. Sadly they are no longer allowing the slalom to take place.

After speaking with friends about how nice this site was (they had been a few times) we decided to book up together and book adjoining pitches. I then decided to go a day early so rang and arranged it which was great. Friends then decided to do the same but we're told their allocated pitch wasn't free for the 1st night which was fine. On arrival they had managed to jiggle things around and we had both pitches from 1st night which was most appreciated saved having to repitch a tent.
Fully appreciate the dog on lead policy as not all dogs are good with others etc however felt as though we were constantly being watched to see if any of the dogs were off their leads as on the 2 occasions that 1 of the dogs were off there seemed to be someone pulling us up immediately. 1 occasion it was pitch black and the dog had been in the tent asleep and we were sat just outside the tents 1 of the kids had been in and unclipped the lead incase he had a epileptic seizure (has suffered with them for 3 years) he had just woke up and came outside and was just saying hello to us didn't even have time to clip him up and the girl with the bright pink hair was straight there and told us if we see any of the dogs off the lead again you will have to take the dogs home ( tone of voice didn't realy help ). Even though you could quite clearly see the other 1 was tethered. That made us very unsettled for the rest of our stay as we were constantly making sure the dogs were on their leads/tethered down.
Spoke to other campers who have been before and even they were saying they have never known it to be so strict.
Had read other reviews before our stay and thought it was people being over critical ( military camp references etc) but did feel as though there may have been some hidden cameras or something 😁 overall we did enjoy our time. Kids loved the river and stream behind our tent which is great on good weather days felt as though could do with a games room or similar for the bad weather and possibly somewhere on site where you can let the dog have a proper run after his ball as the side of a farmer's field isn't ideal for throwing a ball for the dog and kids.
Would go back again but would think twice about taking the dog with us
Kind regards
Barry

First time camping in a tent with the wife and kids. This place is great for a very cheap break lots of fresh air for the kids and the site and facilities are so clean. My only problem was i didnt book another couple of days off work. Will most definatly return.

Lovely place to stay. Brilliant for canoe or kayaking. Lovely pool for kids and adults to play in.

Fantastic place. Great location, very well kept. Toilets were cleaned to a high standard. The staff were really helpful, so much so, that when the shop didn't have a particular item, they gave us some from their own fridge. Highly recommend this for a family stay.

Great camping grounds near River which can canoe on, friendly service, quiet location.

Great campsite and very nice place to walk around and see some nice scenery. My kayak clubs hosts a Slalom event here every year and has been for the past 50 years. Always goes down a treat! The kids love it and it gets the whole family out of the house and involved.

Excellent place. Been here for many years. Will go back again and again.

Stayed here twice this year returning for a 3rd weekend stay in two weeks time. My first visit was over 15 yrs ago with my Kayak club and I learnt to kayak here in a whitewater environment and my instructor had a caravan to stay in at the end of training and I vowed to have my own caravan one day and return. I did return and stay in my caravan on a hot weekend in July and enjoyed it so much I brought my Grandson up for our annual week holiday a couple of weeks later. The site is very well kept with peace and quiet after the light has faded and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Kayaking is good but depending on the time of visit call to ask the river conditions as water level's can vary. Mole end is my preferred area as it is quiet and has a beach entering the water where you can keep a close eye on the children and been at the end of the site it feels safe and secure. The shop stocks all the basic requirements and surprisingly some items you nearly always forget like tent pegs and mallets etc. Overall I love this place and will return again and again you will be hard pushed to beat it anywhere in the country.
