Slingshot Theatre

About Slingshot Theatre

Exciting, dynamic, unpredictable and ridiculous new theatre, touring the South East and also the rest of the world.

Slingshot Theatre Description

Slingshot Theatre is a young emerging company, established in 2010 to produce exciting, dynamic, unpredictable and memorable new theatre through releasing the creative power and vigorous energy of the actor. We seek to innovate and invent, to go beyond the expectations of our audience and to re-ignite a passion for live theatre in the UK. Our buzzwords are physical comedy, mask, improvisation and new writing.

We tour our productions across the UK to both arts houses and community venues, aiming not exclusively, but especially at 14-19 year olds, otherwise known as ‘the deserted demographic’. Out of our goal of performance springs our educational workshops for young people and laboratories for theatre professionals in our foundational discipline, the Commedia dell’ Arte.

Finally, we seek to benefit the UK with theatre work it otherwise would not have the opportunity to see, at a price it can afford. As a non-for-profit Limited Company we survive on support from arts funding, grants and individual donations.

We love theatre.

Got a minute?! Check out this teaser of what we've been working on over the last couple of years. Slow progress but hope to bring this baby out into the world in the not too distant future!

What a great day 1. Usually hate day 1. Problem solving one of scenes here - four actors / seven characters.

Introducing our new friends and accomplices for the next two days, courtesy of Antonio Fava, Finn Caldwell and Russell Dean - a great array of masks by three brilliant mask makers.
