Working with the school staff, both in the classroom and the kitchen we have produced Dinner Monitor, a simple tool that allows children to make independent choices at the start of the school day. This information feeds through to the office and comprehensive reports are then available to confirm who is eating and what they have chosen along with detailing the number of meals of each type to be cooked. A knock on effect reduces the level of food waste and time in the kitchen.
