Slp Sport & Exercise Therapy Description

Sports Therapist trained in a range of techniques in order to assess , diagnose and treat sports injury. Such techniques include peripheral joint mobilisations and spinal mobilisations (Maitlands concepts). Individualised rehabilitation programmes can also be provided along with helpful advice on injury prevention and changes in activities of daily living to relieve symptoms and re-injury.

Sports massage is also used as a treatment technique but can be provided purely as a relaxation method to help release built up tension in the muscles.

🔸Although I have found kinesio tape to be effective on it’s own for greater impact I combine it with other treatments.
🔸It is cost effective and can usually be worn for 5-7 days with therapeutic benefit
🔸 It can provide pain relief, reduce swelling and inflammation, aid recovery of bruises, prevent or relieve muscle spasm, accelerated recovery, supports injured muscles and joints without restriction range of motion and in some cases can allow athletes to remain active while ...injured.
🔸Examples below use tape for a calf problem, plantar fasciitis, reduction of swelling (web shaped design) and shoulder problem

With the end of the ice hockey season fast approaching and a small break before I travel to Slovakia with the GB ball hockey team there is going to be some more availability for appointments 🙂
Wednesday evenings will be available from week beginning 18th March with some daytime appointments available on weekends when booked in advance 🙂
