They did a buffet for my Father's Funeral on the 12/04/2018. The choice of food and the hospitality of the staff was amazing, and all the guests commented on what a lovely venue. Thank you to all the staff. Highly recommended 5*

I dare say I ventured to the Slug and Lettuce expecting a mediocre experience at best, however I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of staff and level of professionalism with which they carried out their duties behind the bar and on the floor of the restaurant.

The food was wholesome and homely; I had sausage and mash, being the less adventurous of my girlfriend and I. My lady friend opted for the far more exotic cheese and bacon burger and claimed it was like pixies moonwalking on her taste buds. Needless to say I told her to stop being so dramatic, the main point being she enjoyed her food thoroughly, as did I.

2-4-1 cocktails are always a bonus, allowing one to get pleasantly wasted for a relatively low price, with multiple vivid colours in your beverage as well.

Courtney, Heidi and Katya deserve special mention for their above and beyond attitude towards their jobs, as well as their down to earth behaviour which I appreciated greatly.

Had the most brilliant night.. the food was amazing. The staff made you feel comfortable.. and a big thank you to Courtney and kataya who work in slug and lettuce for helping organise and set up the table for my sister's hen party. Will defiantly be back again!

Arrived on a Friday night of a pay weekend, but still really quite, this didn’t dampen our mood and partying, celebrating an 18th with good choice of cocktails and shots, music was a good selection, we left happy and merry,

Had father's day meal nice location and a very good meal, warm and friendly staff always helpful.

Cheese and sour cream in my vegan meal! Oh well the staff were very nice about it and sorted it out. I’m very pleased to see they have tasty vegan choices. Someone needs to let the chef know that dairy isn’t vegan. Good job I’m not lactose intolerant. Apart from that it was a good experience. Good price, good food, good service and friendly staff. I’d recommend to others and I’ll definately go again.

I’ve been here 3 times now since coming over from the IOW and yesterday was just awful. I ordered the lasagne like I do every other time and it came out burnt, rock hard and was stuck to the plate so I couldn’t even get it off. The only good thing about the lunch was the dessert afterwards and being in good company with a friend. Really unimpressed as normally the food is at a better standard. �

Me and the girlfriend went for a meal yesterday upon being seated (told to find our own table) we were greeted to the sight of food scattered across the floor of the dining area, okay no biggie maybe its only just happen and they are about to clean it.



We spent an hour here and no attempt to clean it was made despite the restaurant being almost dead, this inevitably caused a problem with bugs as we saw several ants crawling around during our visit.



We ordered our food and noticed that they brought our order to the wrong table took it back in to the kitchen and then brought it back out to us (put me off a little as that should have been binned and a new order cooked) the burger I had was luke warm and the fries that accompanied it were stone cold and hard, the girlfriend ate her fish and chips but said she didn't particular enjoy it has its not up to the standards we have had before when we visted last year.



The mens toliets were disgusting one stall had no lock and no loo roll, the second was covered in piss and had no loo roll and the 3rd had loo roll, could be locked but had no light in it so I had to do my business in the dark.



The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 was because the staff were friendly despite seeming somewhat incompetent at their job.



We will not be returning again as this is an awful place to eat.

Went in today for lunch/breakfast and discovered 50% Monday discount was back on - Ordered one breakfast and two burger meals (after checking the discount was applicable on bank holiday). pretty cheesed off to be charged full price for burger meals as they are apparently exempt from the offer, which is not made at all clear on the new menu (the terms and conditions are written in such small writing we didn’t have a hope in hell of reading them!!). Manageress was totally disinterested - even though our waitress admitted that she gets complaints about this all the time. Think we will stick to Spoons in future, at least you know what you’re getting!

Was served at the bar by a girl for a bubblegum blitz mocktail (was driving). she took my glasses and started making my drinks half way down the bar, she then left my drinks in front of other customers at the bar completely unattended for a good 5 mins whilst off collecting other ingredients for this drink. It then took her another 10 mins making this drink!! Me and my friends then watched add milk to these drinks, this was not what it said on the menu, I do not like milk and my friend I was with is Intolerant to milk, so this was not something we would have ordered. We then politely told the girl that it doesn’t say milk on the menu and would like it without, she then took the menu off us read it and still proceeded to tell us it has milk in it! She then stropped off for a few mins then came back to make them again, this took almost equally as long! We watched her make these 2 drinks, again adding milk! Even after being told milk makes my friend unwell. She brought them back to us! Following this and the girls terrible attitude we went to spoons! Long story short we waited half an hour for a mocktail and still didn’t get a drink! Was such terrible service and the girls attitude was disgusting! Will not be returning

Waited 20 min to be even acknowledged by a waiter... than he started serving others that just came in. Didn’t had a lot of time as baby was starting to get frustrated. Not enough staff serving behind the bar. Bouncers wanted me to open my handbag , was very intimidating, as it was only a small going out bag, I’m 46, not a rowdy teenager. No atmosphere in the pub! Cocktail was very nice, once served!

Imagine you’re baby shower party being kicked out of slug and lettuce for apparently being intimidating �. Only saw this waitress once. So my partner is so upset as we’ve done nothing. The food and service was awful, no cutlery on the table my son wasn’t brought his drink, the food was stale and cold. The manager was ignorant and point blank rude never apologised for anything I don’t think I’ll coming back unless I get a written apology from their head office as my partner who is heavy pregnant is distraught and so up set of the managers behaviour and how she has abused her.

I have never experienced service as awful as this. We ordered our food and noticed that they brought our order to the wrong table took it back in to the kitchen and then brought it back out to us (put me off a little as that should have been binned and a new order cooked) the burger I had was luke warm and the fries that accompanied it were stone cold and hard, the girlfriend ate her fish and chips but said she didn't particular enjoy it has its not up to the standards we have had before when we visted last year.



The mens toliets were disgusting one stall had no lock and no loo roll, the second was covered in piss and had no loo roll and the 3rd had loo roll, could be locked but had no light in it so I had to do my business in the dark.



The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 was because the staff were friendly despite seeming somewhat incompetent at their job.



We will not be returning again as this is an awful place to eat.

Went in today for lunch/breakfast and discovered 50% Monday discount was back on - Ordered one breakfast and two burger meals (after checking the discount was applicable on bank holiday). pretty cheesed off to be charged full price for burger meals as they are apparently exempt from the offer, which is not made at all clear on the new menu (the terms and conditions are written in such small writing we didn’t have a hope in hell of reading them!!). Manageress was totally disinterested - even though our waitress admitted that she gets complaints about this all the time. Think we will stick to Spoons in future, at least you know what you’re getting!

Was served at the bar by a girl for a bubblegum blitz mocktail (was driving). she took my glasses and started making my drinks half way down the bar, she then left my drinks in front of other customers at the bar completely unattended for a good 5 mins whilst off collecting other ingredients for this drink. It then took her another 10 mins making this drink!! Me and my friends then watched add milk to these drinks, this was not what it said on the menu, I do not like milk and my friend I was with is Intolerant to milk, so this was not something we would have ordered. We then politely told the girl that it doesn’t say milk on the menu and would like it without, she then took the menu off us read it and still proceeded to tell us it has milk in it! She then stropped off for a few mins then came back to make them again, this took almost equally as long! We watched her make these 2 drinks, again adding milk! Even after being told milk makes my friend unwell. She brought them back to us! Following this and the girls terrible attitude we went to spoons! Long story short we waited half an hour for a mocktail and still didn’t get a drink! Was such terrible service and the girls attitude was disgusting! Will not be returning

Waited 20 min to be even acknowledged by a waiter... than he started serving others that just came in. Didn’t had a lot of time as baby was starting to get frustrated. Won’t be recommending or coming back. They didn’t even see us leave. A simple “Hi, will be with you in a minute..” would’ve done the job! Welcome to serving people!

Very dissapointed and upset at way waitress treated me and my two dissabled children this eve teatime and very dissapointed at how dirty it was went to one table it was dirty so then went to another and blonde waitress said this one is reserved and said try middle tables and i said they are wrong kind of chairs for my two its ok and i went staight to another table with better surport chairs for my disabled children but that table was dirty aswell i went over to ask politly if my table could be cleaned and she said i can do it but your ll have to wait a bit ive got stuff to do then she went off cleaning the empty table we first went to that was dirty instead of coming to one we were sat at my daughter then ended up touching some yucky stuff on table and ended up taking her to toilets to wash her hands which she hated cos she is disabled and has sensory issues and is terrified of toilets having hand tryers one upst disabled daughter cos the waitress couldnt be bothered to clean our table before a empty one so i then process to tell another waitor whats happened and ask him to clean our table he still didnt and then i asked another waitress if i coud have a spray and cloth to clean my table and she says she will come and do it well 15 min later and the first blonde waitress comes over dont what she did but it was just as sticky and dirty when she walked away very half haerted clean if i ever saw one and then had to ask the other waitress for a wet cloth cos table still sticky and i clearly pointed to a long wet sticky mark on table to her this is disgusting i dont know what put that blonde waitress in that mood but she should never of treated me and my two disabled children like that.i have been here loads of times on mondays with my children the staff have usally been very friendly to me and my children they know i have disabled children and also one of the waitress thought it was approite to give us a baby spoon when i asked for a teaspoon for my son for his beans well that was one way to upset a autistic 10 year old thanks for that two of my kids upset that night have your staff not been trained to talk to people right and to listen to customer and trained on didabilities i had to explain to her infront of my son that he is autistic you can try and offer him that baby spoon but he wont want it and then she says thats all we have but i ll cheek.totally disgusting your staff need training right away i shouldnt be spoken to like that sje thought she was too busy to come clean our table but she went to clean empty ones what does she think shes benith herself to clean a table ive decided to sit my two disabled children at cos the chairs were more surportive for them.i only take them here every monday in school hols half terms cos its 50%off after this experience upsetting me and both my disabled kids i would rather pay full price at harvester then go through this experience again.not a good place at all for children with a varity of dissabilities totally dissgusted no catering and understanding whatso ever.very poor not being open minded very poor customer service for dissabiled children and people staff have no understanding whatso ever and that dirty table is life threatening to my kids have they have a medical condition that if they catch any germs illness they end up in hospital on drips for weeks and i told two waitress this and still did not get table cleaned for 15min and even then not properly still sticky and had to ask for clith again totally disgusting service and when we got there at 4.45 it was dead quite so no excuse what so ever for taking that long.

Shown to our table quickly - no issue there. Then ignored after that. Had to ask for children's menu and was hard to get the waitresses attention. No one came to take our order - tried to catch staff attention but they were too busy cleaning other tables, seating other people and taking their orders! We left, walking past the lady who seated us and she didn't even notice (being a family of 4 with 2 under 5s, we didn't exactly make a quiet exit -kids kept asking why we were leaving!). Disgusting, won't be returning... Went to Wetherspoons where we were served before I'd even finished writing this review!

Place felt and looked very unclean. Pub was empty husband still had to wait to be served as no staff behind bar. There was no draughty beer available only lager and cider. I had a vodka and coke which was served in a small whiskey glass, filled to the brim with coke. Wasn't even asked how much coke we wanted. Was not easy to carry to table without spilling. Well overpriced a single vodka and coke and a pint of Amstel (cheap lager) over £8, Will definitely not be returning, much better cleanliness and service at the lord Arthur Lee (Wetherspoons)

Not enough staff serving behind the bar. Bouncers wanted me to open my handbag , was very intimidating, as it was only a small going out bag, I’m 46, not a rowdy teenager. No atmosphere in the pub! Cocktail was very nice, once served!

Imagine you’re baby shower party being kicked out of slug and lettuce for apparently being intimidating �. Only saw this waitress once. So my partner is so upset as we’ve done nothing. The food and service was awful, no cutlery on the table my son wasn’t brought his drink, the food was stale and cold. The manager was ignorant and point blank rude never apologised for anything I don’t think I’ll coming back unless I get a written apology from their head office as my partner who is heavy pregnant is distraught and so up set of the managers behaviour and how she has abused her.

I have never experienced service as awful as this. We were not spoken to nicely and there was absolutely no professionalism when dealing with complaints about cold food, drinks not arriving and finding a chip in the middle of a salad, instead we were asked to leave. I cannot believe we have been treated in such a way and that they felt it acceptable to kick out a heavily pregnant women at her baby shower. Will not be returning.

Disgusting! Walk in to get told to take a seat where we like! Only half the main room was occupied however Every single spare table was covered in dirty plates and glasses! The staff were unhelpful, it was dirty and very unwelcoming, steer clear!
