Went last night and did cocktail experience. Great fun, great staff, great food and would thoroughly recommend for group activity. Thank yiu especially Dan our cocktail tutor.

Went for a bit of a celebration and the end to my birthday weekend. Just 3 of us, it was quite quiet, but none of the staff just stood about. They were all busy but chatted to us when they passed by. We had a sharing platter and a cocktail or too. It was a really lovely evening. Definitely be returning. Thank you for making our night so pleasant.

Very good food and the prices are great thanks, I live in West Sussex but I will be going to Sutton again soon x

The venue alone is a bright, contemporary and fun place to be in. The staff are friendly and welcoming and will often engage in conversation with you, though they are super busy in there. I would recommend this place highly for a birthday, a lunch or even just because you fancy a cocktail or 10! (That's why I go there! 😁) Five stars all the way!!

Just got home from my company Christmas Lunch which was booked for 46 people! Had a great afternoon and evening! Staff were so friendly and Fran was so helpful and accommodating! The addition of the DJ at 8pm and 2for1 cocktails meant we made not just an afternoon of it but evening to! Thanks to Fran and all the staff that made it so enjoyable for us!

I had a wonderful night...Last night�� DJ made the athmostphere electric. I hope we have same DJ all the time��

As you would expect from any Slug and Lettuce the establishment is very clean and the staff are very friendly and sociable, I'm one of those annoying customers who always wants the bartender to recommend a drink and both Pav and Casey had excellent product knowledge and recommended the most amazing off the menu drinks. The food was cooked perfectly and presented to a restaurant quality and the atmosphere in this establishment is always top quality. There is a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights and the music is ahead of the game which is why it's one of the best venues in the area. I'd definitely recommend a visit, the staff here really make the place what it is. Well done guys, I'll be back back like Arnie. ☺️

Popped in on a Friday afternoon, with my brother and our partners. Staff were about to set up an area for a private party - but as it didn't start for a while, she let us use the area. Right in front of the big open door, so a great spot. I thought the service was fantastic and we ordered food, which was delicious and hot. Got busy, but that didn't affect the service at all, in fact they coped very well. Definitely recommend.

Christmas meal booked for Thursday 7th Dec for a party of 9. Great service from Fran when booking as we changed the party size a couple of times and she was very accommodating. Our food arrived in good time, all served together and piping hot! It was great to see fresh vegetables & potatoes were served with the xmas dinner rather than frozen, & the steaks were cooked to perfection so overall lots of empty plates :-) Very attentive staff who kept checking in to see all was well. The only slight negative was how loud the music was so early on in the evening as we struggled to hear each other over the meal......but it was great once the meal was finished and we hit the dance floor :-)

We had the afternoon tea, which for the price was very reasonable. Although my friends were not keen on the open sandwichs. Sadly it did also seem like the food had been made in advance and then left to get dry and warm. But we were able to get extra cheese sandwiches and extra cream. Staff quite accommodating.

The bar staff were mostly friendly but quite slow. We stayed drinking cocktails all afternoon, which again were very reasonable as 241.

One member of the bar staff did however ruin our experience, he was very rude and arrogant. The other bar staff seemed shocked by his rudeness and were very apologetic.

The slug and lettuce is very good for a night out with mates and for a few drinks and a dance. I think the door staff should accept id my friend had a U.K. Citizen card they were bit funny about letting him in but they let him off I think just cuz I was with him. Part from that a great night at my friends birthday.

Bar was badly run. Had to wait half an hour to get served. Toilets in a very poor state toilet paper on the floor not in holders no toilet seats. Music good and seating areas comfortable.

Was on work Xmas do . They rushed out starters which were ok we were the only group in the pub it was empty. Main meals were awful cold and rock hard potatoes and veg pudding was roasting hot couldn't eat it brandy sauce wax lumpy and tasteless .not good night we all were hungry ,

I have been to the slug many times but the last 2 times I have been it has felt like I’m invisible at the bar. The staff only seem to want to serve the people that are regulars or attractive and standing there for god knows how long is a real eye opener. I walked out in the end and couldn’t enjoy my friends birthday drinks due to the fact that the staff are only interested in one type of customer I’m sad to be writing this but is this not rude? I know that by writing this I will get no response from the slug and lettuce and that makes me even more upset as they cannot own up to making people feel like shit � it’s a shame really as the music and food and great but the staff let it down by being picky and obnoxious with who they want to serve only wanted 2 beers but didn’t even get a look in as they say if the face don’t fit don’t serve her �

Astronomical prices and bar staff who looked totally fed up. Got charged two different amounts for the same drinks. After 9pm the bass on the music thumped so loud everything vibrated and you had to shout to be heard. Not the best atmosphere and could be made a lot better.

Wouldn't go out of my way to go back but if friends are going then I will too I guess.

Having happy looking and engaging bar staff would help a lot!

Requested Fat Les Vindaloo with the DJ and he refused so I went to the bar to be told I'm banned from getting a drink because I requested an England song! Discrimination at its worst and I will not be returning

The first time we were in the club and my younger brother turned up alone to meet us around midnight as we understood last entry was 1. I was told he couldn't come in as it was full. There were 3 free tables available at this time. I asked if it was 1 in 1 out as 5 people then left I was told very rudely "no I told you it's shut" the conversation continued and I was made to feel stupid and small but the male bouncer. I never got upset, I never was out of order. The way I was dealt with was completely unfair and to send anyone off alone late at night isn't fair but my brother went home alone. 10 mins later I was still outside discussing the shut policy with a bouncer when a girl turns up alone. Her friends come out and ask for her to be let in. They flirt with him and chat to the female bouncer and they let her in. This is completely unfair. If it's shut it's shut. You can't have one rule for someone talking reasonably and another for girls that flirt with you. I shouldn't have to be like that to get my younger brother in.

The second time me and my boyfriend decided to give it another go because I never judge a place on first time. We got there again around 12 and got in the queue. We were at the front and were told it was shut as it was too full. Again I could see tables to sit at and it didn't look full. I didn't push the bouncer we just waited patiently as I believed it might re open if a few people left. A group of girls arrived and again flirted with the bouncer chatted with the female bouncer and had a laugh and were let in. I said I felt this was unfair in a calm way I was met very rudely with "we'll leave then we a shut anyway" I said you were shut and still let those girls in he replied "no love we shut after they went in" I am not an idiot and I know that's a lie. At this point my boyfriend wanted to leave but I waited because I wanted a dance. After a 20 min wait we were let in and we're spoken to very rudely and like we were a nightmare. The male bouncer especially has a very bad manner with the public and made me feel very uncomfortable.

The bar staff serve quickly and the music is good but the bouncers on the door let the establishment down and they are out front so put people off coming in. They are rude they are discriminatory and they treat people who dare to question them with intimidation. I think we accept bouncers who behave like this too much and I shouldn't have to flirt myself into a club and when pointing out that they may have been unfair be met with intimidation and awful treatment.

I hope you read this and take the complaints into consideration. I know others who have also struggled with the bouncers.

Food was totally awful on Saturday night. Sent my steak back as first plate was cold, then had the cheek of the waiter telling me it was because they was busy(only saw our table eating)... Then the second plate(steak again ) was like trying to eat a bit of rubber so again could not eat it... Absolute joke... would never eat in here again.
