We thought we'd do a fun interview to try and find out a bit more about her. We particularly like her answer to 'what her dream job was as a child!
... Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a local girl I was born and educated in Loughborough and then went over to Sheffield to embark on my dental degree. I have been a dentist now for nearly twenty years and have worked in numerous dental practices in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
Your role at the dental practice?
I am a Dental Associate at Smile Essential and alongside my experienced colleagues, I help to provide dental care to patients from routine examinations to a variety of dental treatments. These include simple fillings to more complex treatments such as crown and bridge work and cosmetic treatment including tooth whitening and adult orthodontics.
Your favourite part?
I especially enjoy the cosmetic side of dentistry – there’s an immense amount of satisfaction in providing patients with treatments that allow s them to feel more confident about themselves and their smiles.
What do you like about being part of the Smile Essential team?
This might sound like a cliché – but it’s the feeling that I belong to a family here. I feel a valued member of the team. This perhaps explains why the majority of staff have been here years!
When you were little what did you dream of doing when you grew up?
A backing vocalist for Wham or Madonna.
Favourite film?
Goodfellas or anything by Martin Scorcese.
Favourite TV programme?
Any good comedy – Modern Family.
How important do you think a good smile is?
A good healthy smile is essential in allowing people to go about their daily lives with that inner confidence. Good dental health is vital to ensure that we can function as we should e.g. so we can eat drink and speak normally – otherwise this can have a major impact on our daily lives. This is why regular dental visits are so important. Seeing a dentist regularly ensures that possible problems can be spotted early and corrected preventing major problems in the future.

Nothing is too much trouble and they all make you feel welcome and more importantly relaxed. Our dentist Shrik is the most amazing calming and caring dentist you will ever find. His skill is of the highest quality and his ability to reassure us is wonderful. So good for nervous patients.... we are not nervous now. I was a nervous wreck on my first visit. Hadn't been to the dentist for quite a while and was ashamed of the state of my teeth. I was made to feel welcome,safe and cared for from the minute I walked in the door. This was a few years ago, I am pleased to say that I am still a regular visitor. Nik is a great dentist and always makes me feel at ease. Yesterday I had two appointments- impressions, an extraction and a new denture fitted- I wouldn't have believed that was possible on my first visit! The whole team are great. Highly recommended.

I have not been to the dentist for 20 years due to anxiety. I was made to feel relaxed in the appointments and all staff took the time to explain things to me. I really pleasant experience. I would recommend Smile to others, especially if you are anxious.

I have had a very bad fear of dentists since a young age, but I’ve joined smile essential on Narborough Road Leicester.

I just wish I had found them long ago.

The first day I rang them I was sobbing with fear, but the receptionist put me at ease. She booked me in the same day...When I arrived “in bits �” I was given tea to calm me down.. Nik the dentist was absolutely brilliant he was gentle and didn’t rush at all. Just had my 3rd visit and went in smiling & came out smiling.

Going to the dentist isn’t the best thing in the world but I’m 100% happier now that I’ve joined Smile Essential.

I can honestly say that since I have been with Smile Essential they have restored my faith in going to the dentist (only this one ) My Dentist is Shrik and I find him extremely polite and helpful I have had excellent service, and the staff are remarkably friendly. My son who is mentally disabled loves going there especially to see Adele, she is fabulous with him and always brings a smile to his face. I would recommend them to everybody, I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the service they offer you

After a lot of online research, I decided to go to Smile Essentials for a consultation about a smile makeover and all I can say about my whole experience is WOW! Even at the free consultation I was taken aback by the friendly service I received from all members of staff and as I was happy with the suggested course of treatment (whitening, gum contouring and tooth bonding) and I felt it was very good value for money, so I decided to go ahead. Now that the treatment is all complete, I am absolutely over the moon with the results and it has left me with a smile I am so happy with! However, the main thing that stood out for me was Lina, not just the results she achieved on my teeth, but her warm, friendly and caring manner that puts you at ease at every visit. She works so closely with you throughout to ensure you are going to achieve your desired result and her attention to detail and desire to get everything perfect for you really shines through (which was great coming from a fellow perfectionist!) .



This isn’t my routine dental practise but I was made to feel like I had been going there for years and if it wasn’t for the fact that I live 50 minutes away, I would definitely be switching dentists!

Absolutely loving my new smile ...... thanks to Nik and the team. It was great to see my holiday photos this year and not be embarrassed by my smile. Nik assured me he could get my teeth straight and white and he never failed to deliver.
