Wow my first visit and i had heard good things and it certainly was " AWESOME " high quality of food amazing atmosphere and if you like that whole wild west theme you wont find a better place ��100% recomended ��

Jackie Hill we were celebrating my great grandsons 6th birthday, the staff were very pleasant, the food was absolutely superb, the evening a success, really enjoyed the visit.

I often come here and it’s lovely but I have to say last night the food was brilliant, albeit large portions but super tasty and the waiting staff were so lovely and accommodating despite a late arrival for a midweek meal.

They were extremely friendly, chatty and nothing was too much trouble. They even took part in solving riddles with us!

Would definitely recommend purely based on the waiting team. Thanks guys for a brilliant night

Food was great, service very helpful and frequent without seeming overbearing. The atmosphere and decor is awesome, thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Will definitely go back 👌

Fantastic friendly service & delicious food this evening - very accommodating when booking to allocate seating suitable for a child with additional needs & The Belly Buster made our 5year olds birthday meal complete! Thoroughly recommend & cannot wait for a return visit. Thank You

Been here quite a few times never a bad meal. Went for lunch with my daughter yesterday and it was lovely. Food great and the waiter we had was absolutely brilliant. Lemon meringue pie, the best i have ever had � i will definately be back. The staff also helped us get a parking space as the rail company have been very greedy by not giving many car park spaces. Cheeky people using theirs rather than paying even waitrose workers parking there.

Really good food, very well cooked burger, others in the party had ribs, steaks, fajitas and wings, all were very good. Was A service charge for a large party which i really dont think is necessary. Apart from that, very happy!( love a bit of background country music!)

I have been here quite a few times over the years. The food is always excellent and staff and friendly. A bit disappointed when we all got our desserts and the children had to wait quite a while for theirs. It's still an enjoyable restaurant to eat in!

Never had a bad meal or time at Smith and Western, however yesterday's experience left us disappointed. A few positives to start: the place was very well decorated for the holidays, and we were seated quicker than we thought considering the time of year (and a Friday). However we were disappointed with the menu change, mainly the drinks. Our cocktail was not true to its original ingredients, and although the matter was dealt with we weren't entirely happy as they said they weren't using a key ingredient anymore. We faced yet more disappointment when we went to order an Oreo Mudslide each (and it was a party of four so money to be had) and were told they are now non-alcoholic!! We left highly upset and don't think we'd be returning any time soon, which is a shame as usually I'd praise this place to those who ask on opinions for here.

More expensive than expected. Food ok, service ok but staff in "robot-mode". Knapkins not provided when eating ribs ?? Had to ask.

Drinks too pricey.

Good car parking & WiFi.

Table for two, got shoved in the main thoroughfare so wasn't particularly enjoyable as so much 'close traffic' going past every 2 mins! Plus one of our mains was completely forgotten about so was very late in arriving. In fairness to the waitress she deducted that meal from the final bill but still, won't go back again.

Don’t think you should have tables overlooking the kitchen unless you want the fact that everything is pre cooked, and I mean ready made meal tipped out of plastic carton and into ovenproof dishes to be browned off seen by all. Was asked if I wanted fries or curly fries, requested the curly variety, didn’t get them!! Waited much longer than anyone else on the table, oh except for my son who actually didn’t get his at all!! Poor service. A lot of hoo haa doesn’t compensate for poor service..

After a wonderful afternoon at the beach, what could have been better than a family meal at the S&W. Very disappointed. My toddlers meal of macaroni and cheese was topped with a very "generous" amount of fresh cracked pepper. Needless to say this was not mention on the menu nor to his taste. This was quickly brought to the staffs attention that it wasn't ideal to added cracked pepper to a meal for under 5s. The reply and I quote " this particular chefs likes to add this to the meals" The £23 steak was tough as old boots and again very disappointing and bearly edible (medium/rere) at top end price.



Staff were not remotly interested in our polite feedback nor did they offer a desert or coffee as a gesture of good will. Two out of fours meals, not eaten.



Will not be visiting again any time soon.

We were a party of 15 celebrating my partners birthday. 5 of our party ordered starters and then we waited over an hour for our mains. Sadly I didn’t notice our waitresses name but when we queried the wait she told us it was a staffing issue in the kitchen and there was nothing she could do! During this time another table of 15 arrived and were promptly served their mains. When we asked to see the manager we were told it was because they didn’t order starters! Surely our main should have been being prepared whilst 5 of us were eating starters. The manager and our waitress were both totally unapologetic and told us it wasn’t down to them but the kitchen. We chose to walk out after the appalling service and lack of food and drinks that we had ordered. Being made to wait over an hour for our mains because some of us had starters is ludicrous!!! The only good thing about our visit there was the lovely lady who seated us. She couldn’t apologise enough and refunded our deposit and wouldn’t except payment for the starters and drinks some of us had had. Sadly it was an embarrassing experience for myself who had arranged the birthday celebration and we definitely will not be visiting again.

We went Saturday 4th November. Table booked for 7pm. Waited ages for our first drinks and for our order to be taken. Starters came quite quickly then waited nearly an hour for our mains. So noisy with constant Happy Birthday screeching and singing with crashing of triangles etc. Food was okay but not brilliant....dry burgers and over cooked ribs. So disappointed as had been told it would be really good.

Very slow service, took nearly 90 minutes to get our food and had to ask several times for each drinks refill, food was tasteless and 4 out of 8 of us had upset stomachs within an hour of leaving including my son who was sick after eating his burger outside. When we informed the manager he was more interested in where he had been sick and not that there could be an issue with the food?

Birthday belly buster was a letdown for my daughter's birthday (she'd been looking forward to it all day), no brownie just chocolate sponge in the bottom and hardly any M&M's or marshmallows either ....

£120 for a bad experience �
