cracking find on our 2nd day in the isle of wight. This was exactly what we wanted, a small, simple, seafront restaurant with fantastic fresh fish and great friendly service.....a must. we are there tonight for a final night.

When adding my review I noticed all reviews were 5*. Out of sheer bloody mindedness I would like to knock a star off. But it’s just not possible. Great service, and absolutely fabulous food. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long, long time. Might even be the best ever.

What an amazing restaurant. We called in for lunch as it looked a lovely restaurant. Found out it only opened 3 weeks ago. Wow, best restaurant on the Island we have tried.



Everyone was so friendly and helpful but the food was of the finest and highest quality. I had the IoW Crab starter.....omg outstanding. My son had Swordfish and he could not stop saying how delicious it was and my father had Sea Bass the flavour and freshness how it was cook was the best ever. My young daughter had a delicious fresh fish and chips that were light and more than enough for her.



I wish I lived here as it was be a regular visit but if you visit Ventnor then you can't leave without booking a table here. 5 stars all the way and thank you for the amazing welcome and food.

What an absolute Gem of a perfect restaurant! The menu was a delight , so refreshing & the food was out of this world! Beautiful setting with wonderful service. Thank you so much for the perfect Mother’s Day lunch. We will definitely be back very soon xx

We came for the weekend, and was recommended to visit smoking lobster by one of the bars in shanklin (no. 64) we had a party of 5 of us, all of which previously worked together for a large catering and hospitality business with Michelin star restaurants and chefs so we like good food!

We were met by friendly welcoming staff, in a modern, cosy restaurant! Such a cute place!

The cocktails were incredible, we had the lychee martini and couldn't get enough!

Then the food arrived and it was just flawless!! It was truly perfect, melt in the mouth, delicious! The service was great, the cocktails were gorgeous and the food exceeded all expectations. Who doesn't love fresh food! We are still talking about the food! Love, love, love!

Very cool place. Fun & friendly professional service, and all the dishes were out of this world, most caught locally of course, this place would give anywhere in Rhode Island a run for their money, brilliant guys :)

The food here is amazing! Such a beautiful restaurant next to a perfect beach ! - my new favourite definitely- I’ll be recommending to everyone!

Spent a lovely evening at Smoking Lobster with my husband last night. It was the best dining experience we’ve had in a while - the food was amazing, service very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was buzzing. We’re looking forward to going back!!

My grandfather had seen the place being refurbished and asked us to take him for lunch yesterday (30th September) we certainly were not disappointed! The decor was light and airy. The staff super friendly. The food was amazing! I had a special, crab salad with crab & coconut croquets the taste explosion was fabulous. My husband had the beef teriyaki burger, the steak was melt the mouth and again the flavours were so good. My grandfather chose rum & raisin ice cream with a tot of rum, the smile on his face was something to cherish.

I recommend this restaurant and will be back next month

I was in the Italian restaurant down the road I walked out poor service and unclean tables and too busy talking about guys on jet skis so I left! Walk down the road and found this crown jewel small clean fresh smiling staff and more importantly a very good � I was late as they were due to close but I still got a table and great service and great food price very good value well done and thank you �

I cannot say how much I loved this place! From the warm welcome to my whole family, the amazing advice on which drinks would be best with what food, happy to have a discussion about how the place came about, sourcing of the food etc. But none of that compares to the amazing food we experienced, just beautiful! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. We have our meal and had to go back for more as we had to try it! Have already chosen what we are going to have on our next trip when we come back! Thank you for the best meal on the island! Good luck guys keep going from strength to strength and best wishes for the new arrival when he/she comes xx

From the moment we stepped in the door the staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to provide a good paced service and made sure we always had drinks ect. All three courses were just the right size and the flavours were amazing. I highly recommend the passionfruit mojitos as well. It was an all round brilliant night with a wonderful atmosphere, amazing food and excellent service.

Food was easily the best we've eaten on IOW :) Fish was cooked to perfection and 'slaw so crunchy and delicious. We visited twice both times the service and food was top notch.

Amazing food, fresh, modern & absolutely delicious using lots of local produce, easily one of the best restaurants on the Island (cocktails are dangerously good!). The waiting staff are lovely, friendly & attentive..
