The heatwave has brought out the red flowers so well

Hi everyone summer has been impressive so far . Looking good here . We have implemented new opening hours Monday to Saturday 4.00pm to 8.30pm and Sunday 4.00pm to 7.00pm . Pop in and check out the local fish available also on local Cornish new potatoes .

This Wednesday we will be closing at 6.30 pm so we can all follow the England Football team on their remarkable journey in the World Cup . Sorry if this causes any inconvenience but everyone at Smugglers wants to live this moment as it happens . Come on England dare to dream.

We were on holiday last week and had fish and chips at smugglers twice I had monkfish and it was the best fish I have eaten for years it was that good we decided to have it on are last night would have been rude not to, great service great price great place. Would love to know there batter recipe awesome

We just come back after 3 weeks in mullion had fish x chips from here loads of time lovely batter x fish my husband had sausage said was lovely even our dog had a mini cod wooed it down so thank you xxx

We found this fish and chip shop last year and there was Monk Fish & chips on the menu, which was amazing. We visited again this year and although Monk Fish was not on the menu, they said they would try for the end of our holiday. They kept their promise as it was on the menu today and just as amazing. Well worth a visit �

We arrived on a rather busy afternoon, most of the freshly caught local fish of the day had already gone but it was clear, had we arrived earlier, that there was quite a selection.

We ordered a lizard burger, cod and a home-made fish cake and a large portion of chips for our family of three.

The lizard burger was luscious! The locally produced meat was juicy and cooked medium - really a very, very good burger. The cod was light and flaky and the batter crisp and delicious. The surprising star of the show from our point of view was the home-made fish cake- it was so flavoursome! It was a very generous size (too big for our daughter, so we all got to try what she left!) coated in a crisp batter and was certainly worth the wait to prepare and cook it. My usually very fussy daughter LOVED this and we spent a while that evening trying to guess what ingredients were used- any chance of the recipe??!!

The chips were fresh and delicious, not overly greasy and caused my daughter to comment that 'they tasted like actual potatoes'.

As many others have said, if it were not a 700mile round trip, we'd be back every week!

Don't be put off by queues or a long wait- it is totally worth it!

Visited on Friday while sightseeing at Lizard Point...can honestly say that the fish and chips was the best w Ave ever tasted... So disappointed that we live 200 miles away so it will be awhile before enjoying them again

This is what I wanted as my birthday treat and I was not disappointed. Service is fast and the fish was wonderful as usual.

This is the best chippie in the country by far. Big claim, but as a massive connoisseur of fish and chips, I have tried enough to know what I'm on about! If you are in Lizard and hungry don't hesitate, treat yourself. If an extra special treat is needed - won the lottery or something, then Smugglers version of surf 'n turf is a must.

This is our third visit to Cornwall & our third visit in a year to smugglers fish & chip shop, by far the best fish and chip shop we have ever been to! Fantastic service! Fantastic food! It’s worth the 5.5 hour drive just to feel the satisfaction of these fish and chips! Thank you! We will be back again before we head home �

Mackerel and chips I had was stunning, my husband had cod and chips which he thought was the best he'd ever eaten. Would certainly recommend and we will try again when we are next on holidays �

In my opinion, the best Cod, chips and curry sauce I have EVER had. There were some locally caught fish options too on both visits. They were just Soooooooooo yummy. I certainly recommend a trip down to The Lizard for your Fish & Chips from Smugglers.

How can this superb chippy only get 4.9 stars? This is a travesty. I give it 5.1 but can't seem to be able to input this to the system!

Excellent fish & chips (and other things) - they pride themselves on using locally produced meats and potatoes, and on locally caught fish wherever possible.



This is one of our regular stops when we visit The Lizard Peninsula.

Best fish and chips in Cornwall! We travel from St Ives to get our dose of smugglers - sunny Saturdays and we're there! Delicious fresh fish with a light crispy batter and lovely chips too. We cant fault you :-)
