A level 3 heat health warning was issued by the Met Office yesterday, containing advice to (amongst other measures) "wear a hat". Similar advice appears on the website of the venerable (and 70 years old, happy birthday!) NHS, which also advises that the public, in this kind of weather, should wear: “a wide-brimmed hat that shades the face, neck and ears”. Sue Darling looked after me from the moment i stepped into this fanstastic shop. Don't see that many shops like this with such a range of both Men and Womens headgear. The hat i wanted was not in stock in my size so she placed an order for me. As i was on Holiday at the time i would have to return some months later. Sue kept me updated on the progress of the order throughout .Some 3 months had passed until i could return. Sue had kept 3 hats for me in the style and size i required to try on. Worth the wait, i love my hat. Fanstastic customer service. You can not buy a hat on-line as it generaly ends in tears. Support any local shops but especially speciality shops like this. Returned to Snooks today as my birthday treat. Sue and Eleanor could not have been more attentive and helpful. They helped me to find the perfect hat for a costume and I'll get loads of wear out of it before and after the event too. I wasn't the only customer who was celebrating a birthday. A new hat is clearly essential wear for another trip round the sun and what better place to buy it than Snooks?

People think I'm bonkers when I say I'm travelling an hour and half away just to buy a hat. Just buy it on the internet they say, I say poppycock! A hat is a personal item and must fit correctly and all the staff at Snook's are very helpful, all be it as bonkers as the rest of us. Recommend a trip here any day of the week, unless of course there closed! Until the next time 'pip pip'....

Love this shop, a hat for every occasion. The staff are so knowledgable, friendly and tactful. I bought a Tilly hat recommended by oncologists and dermatologists for protection against sun damage and stylish to boot. Also bought two specially made turbans and a fedora! Feel quite glamorous. Also bought one of their fabulous striped hat boxes. Look forward to visiting again next year.
