Soapbox Sessions Description
Soapbox Sessions is an open mic night withspecial guest headliners taking place every Sunday evening at the The Hole In The Wall, Darlington. Doors 7pm. Free Entry.
We want all you lovely musicians, comedians and verbal performers to come down, perform and help take our mind off the working week ahead.
If you are not blessed with musical /comedic talents but filled with angst then please feel free to step up for a one minute rant. We ring the bell and you let rip (within reason) until you hear the bell again. Best rant gets a free beer.
If you are completely stage shy then still come down and sample the lovely real ales on offer whilst watching the onstage fun. Each evening also has a headline act to make sure the night finishes off with a flourish.

*** Soapbox Sessions Postponement ***
Apologies for lack of communication this week, been very busy with various preparations for COVID-19 hibernation across the various cultural/music organisations at which I work.
An obvious statement, but Soapbox Sessions will be postponed until further notice. We'll be back with our usual vibrant open mic delights once this is all over. In the meantime, hang in there, be kind to one another and keep your distance.

Sigh... So Soapbox Stars never quite worked out. Very sad indeed, but life goes on and Soapbox Sessions still continues to bring sounds and sass to Hole in the Wall Market Tavern & Kitchen. YAY!!!
This next couple of weeks we'll have the acts who never had a chance to gain the title of of Soapbox Stars Champion 2020 as our headliners. Performing this week is singer-songwriter and Soapbox fave Bradley Thompson and up and coming acoustic duo Dkoded.

Bit of sad news... We were due to release acts who are performing at the various Soapbox Stars heats last Friday... but just before we did an act pulled out, then another, then another and so on (for various unrelated reasons) until we had very little talent left to perform. We've tried finding replacements but to no avail and so have had to take the decision to cancel this year's event. 😢
We're very sorry to all the acts and judges for the change of plans and to anyone who was looking forward to, what is usually, a fun few weeks. Unfortunately, it's just one of those things, sometimes stuff doesn't work out as you'd have hoped. 🤷♀️
On a positive note Soapbox Sessions will continue as normal throughout March and we'll announce headliners shortly. 🙌
