Traveled solo to London; stayed here for 4 nights. Stayed in a 6 girls sharing dorm, Chk out 25nov. This is truly the best accommodation on budget. Location is superbly central to main train station. Simple, fuss free and clean. Will stay here again if back in London. Will recommend to friends!

This was my first time staying in a hostel, I was very apprehensive but really enjoyed my stay. SoHostel is a really nice place to stay. Very modern and smart. Rooms are very clean and bed comfortable, I was very surprised just how quiet up the stairs area was

This is a very well-thought out hostel. Service was great, truly happy that they have elevators, people you meet are friendly (went there for new years and it was a blast!!!), central location couldn't be beat, breakfast options were sufficient plus you can upgrade for 1£ to a full english. Pamper room with hair straightener - i love it! Complimentary towels in my room saved me at least 4£. The only downside is that it tends to be a maze. Coming down from the 5th floor I am often lost on what doors to open to reach the ground floor. It's my third time in London, and I've been to numerous hostels (one in Strand, one in Lambeth, one just two blocks away from SoHostel). This is hands down the best. A little pricier though compared to others but it's well worth it. I found my home in London!

This Hostel could teach the major chain hotels a thing or two.



Booked this room months ago as we wanted to come to London for New Years Eve. What attracted us to book a room here was the availability of a private room with breakfast included for £99 and the location. I have to say it was the best money we have ever spent on a hotel. From the minute we arrived you could not fault the attention that was paid to make sure our stay was amazing. Shaun tended to us and is very knowledgeable, he showed us to our room and you need a good memory as the hostel is very big, be aware that there are many stairs and would not suit anyone with breathing problems. We stayed in room 207 which is in the teal section. While we were being shown to our room Shaun informed us that there was a karaoke from 7pm and a party on the roof terrace to celebrate the New Year if we wanted to join.

The hostel, public areas, and toilets were the cleanest I've ever seen.

We went out for a meal and a walk and decided to come back to the hostel. The drinks were a very good price, the bar staff were very friendly and if you wanted food, there was cooked food on offer.

Karaoke was a great hit especially listening to overseas visitors singing in their native language, Estelle from The Netherlands was a great singer. I had a go myself and sang Robbie Williams let me entertain you. Don't know about anyone else but I thought I was great.

The roof top party was great, prices of drinks were more expensive but still a good price. You were able to see the New Year fireworks from the roof although the chimney stack blocked some of the view.

The room was basic with a sink but you don't need anything else, linen was clean, the bed was fairly comfortable but because of my extra padding and increasing years would prefer a thicker mattress.

The owner and his little boy Alfie were very entertaining and Alfie was a great little man.

Breakfast was fantastic, good coffee, good quality English breakfast, toast, yogurts, fruit juice. Very filling and great flavour.

There are not enough good things I could say about our stay.

Booked our room with Booking,com and was not aware that we needed to bring photographic ID, which did put me out and made me snappy, apologies to Shaun who took no notice and you dealt with me very professionally.

Will definitely come here again.

Stayed here for 9 nights in January 2017. Highly recommend this hostel. Have stayed in many and this is by far one of the best. All areas are cleaned daily. I booked a twin room to myself and it came with a sink (huge plus!). The bar has super cheap drinks and meals. I strongly recommend booking breakfast as it's a great breakfast and you won't be able to go out and get a breakfast for less. The location is simply unbeatable. Would stay here again for sure.

Me and my sister stayed here for 3 nights and I couldn’t be happier with our decision to stay at this hostel.

Really clean and comfortable!



Our room was a 4 bedroom one and we never really felt weird about staying with two other roommates. They were great and are our friends today!



The lounge / bar is also a great place where you can hang out and get to know other people. It’s also huge and comfortable to sit there.



I reacted strongly on the fact that Soho hostel had a room with mirrors and hairstyling products. I never had the time to use that room but what a great idea to let the guests use straighteners etc at the hostel if you’ve forgotten to bring your own? So great!



I wish the gaming room wasn’t under construction when during our stay and I wish the shower water was a bit warmer. Other than that, I recommend the hostel to all people visiting London. It’s close to everything, just a walk down to Oxford street and a Tesco supermarket right in front of the hostel.



I will definitely stay here next time!



PS: the staff was so helpful and amazing! I forgot to catch their names, but one named Johnny was so helpful and polite.

I’ve just travelled 8 weeks through Europe and I’ve had really good experiences at places although the service hasn’t always been exceptional like at home in Adelaide Australia. However the service here from Jake and Val at the bar serving food and drinks is exceptional. Always smiling, they have top class personal relation skills. I seriously can’t fault their work. I’m extremely over hostels and was not looking forward to this stay but it has by far been some of the best accomodation and a pleasant surprise to have such accomodating people and above average facilities.

Couldn’t recommend this place anymore and the staff are so professional I’d come back here in a heart beat. I never write reviews but I seriously recommend this place and advise getting to know Jake a Val because your experience will be all the better for it.

I've stayed here twice and both times were great! This year things were even better than last year as they've been doing some updates to the place. The staff is helpful, the place is super clean and safe, it's so so central (amazing area.... goes without saying) and the price is right. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in London. On top of that.... they've got USB ports in the room so I don't need to bring my charger (just the cable) or an adapter and they've got blow dryers and straightening irons in the pamper parlor - again no adapters needed and no lugging around my hair irons or having bad hair all weekend :p. Little things like that make a big difference ^_^ With all the activities and services offered too it's a great place to meet people if you're traveling solo. Highly recommended!

I spent 5 nights at sohostel, i was a little scared how was it going to be cause it was so cheap but i couldnt be more satisfied, the bed was clean, the toilets were always clean, the beer at the bar was cheap and cold :) and the whole staff was amazing. If i go back to London that's the place for me to stay.

I could give this hostel more stars than five if it was possible. Why?

1. This is virtually the cleanest and most comfortable hostel I've ever seen. Rooms are huge, bathroom facilities impeccable (and I was staying in a room for six people)

2. The staff are super-welcoming and encourage you to spend time at the hostel and take advantage of its facilities: drinks prices are very good for Soho, for example. Also, they helped me out when I couldn't open a hand cream, was looking for plastic cups, ATMs, cash exchange, and I don't think that their resourcefulness limits to this. So thanks guys, you're doing an amazing job!

3. Also, about 100 quid for 3 days in Soho, and had a great board game evening with my roommates.

So thank you SoHostel, I'm certainly coming back, and would gladly recommend you to anyone)

Great staff who were always good for a chat. The common room and bar areas allow solo travellers to make friends easily if you are willing to put yourself out there. Would highly recommend. Special shout out to Des the chef who is a lad.

10 weeks in Europe and never stayed anywhere better!!! Gee this place this good!! Jake and Val looked after us for the whole time and did an absolutely tremendous job! Couldn't have had better hospitality!! Stayed here with three mates and they completely made our stay!! Jake and Val take your hats off you're unbelievable and cheers �

I visit London quite often, and I always stay here. You have wonderful staff, good accommodations, and overall a great atmosphere and location. The main reason why I stay here, is because of your work with One Housing. Awesome initiative!!! ����



This time, however, my room didn’t get clean up properly (as well as the bathrooms). It was dirty since I arrived.



I was in a 6-female dorm, and all the trash bins were so full, we didn’t know were to put our trash anymore. I stayed at that room for 4 nights and we never had the trash bins emptied.



Other than that, I really love this hostel, and will recommend it to my friends. �

I had never stayed in a hostel before so I can say that I was pretty lucky.

The hostel is very clean, in a good location and the staff is very friendly and ready to help anytime . I would definitely stay there again.

This is one of my worst mistake I did in 2018 . Making a reservation with you and charging me for a service I didn't use. While I cancelled 7 days in advance. Folks avoid this property as much as you can.

This is my second time staying at this hostel. First time was great, had no issues. However this time around things have been very different. I got a double room with an ensuite. First night the shower didn't drain. I told the front desk and was asked not to use the shower. The next evening it still had yet to drain. I talked to the front desk again, they obviously didn't believe me because "they had a tech look at it that day" so a staff member had to verify that there was still a puddle of water in the shower. It eventually drained the next evening. What a joke, all I was offered for the inconvenience was a free drink even though I paid for a room with an ensuite and couldn't use it. Next the plug in, in my room stopped working. Told the front desk again. Said they would fix it later that day. That night got back to the hostel and big surprise they didn't do shit. Talked to the front desk and it won't be fixed for a few days which is after I check out. Only offer was they could charge my phone for me or I needed to sit in the common area.



Sohostel has definitely lost my business and recommendation for any future trips. I would not recommend this hostel to any friends or family visiting London.
