An artistic piece in Showcase Gallery by Stacey Heale who invited people to come and get a collective tattoo of the word 'now' as part of the Everything Is Now exhibition.

What a brilliant day today with our NOW tattoos going on all day. Really interesting to hear everybody’s story’s and why they are getting the tattoo.

So interesting to hear from this group of people as to why that got their ‘now’ tattoo!!

This is Rebecca, the third person to get a ‘now’ tattoo at showcase gallery, explaining her reason for getting one today

Getting excited for Time Is Now tattoo event?! Everyone is welcome to come and hang out, and if you are up for getting a tattoo yourself 😁 it will be on a first come, first serve basis. We'll be there to help you sign up and take you through the process. And the amazing Stacey Heale will be there to chat to you on you're way to getting your tattoo, with the talented tattooist artist Erin Larkin (artist) *****Remember to bring ID to prove you're 18 years old or over!*******

Stacey Heale, guest curator for our current show 'Everything Is Now' talks about the ideas behind her participatory piece Time Is Now tattoo event, where members of the public can have a free tattoo of the word 'NOW' in the gallery on Sat 8th June 10am - 4pm.

Here at Solent University Showcase Gallery, we recently had the pleasure of meeting the talented tattoo artist Erin Larkin who has been invited by Stacey Heale to be the tattooist for her Time Is Now tattoo event coming up this Saturday 8th June. The award winning artist/tattooist is based in Southampton, and is the co-owner of Little Scorpions Tattoo Parlour. We feel extremely lucky that this event is in her capable hands and look forward to seeing a professional at work!
...Erin Larkin says: ** I am extremely excited to announce that I have the privilege to take part in the incredible. 'Time is Now' event this Saturday 8th June at the @solent_showcase_gallery .
I will be tattooing the word 'now' live at the event, from 10am until 4pm on as many of you as I possibly can. I will have a range of fonts that you can choose from and these tattoos are FREE of charge. The time is limited so I can not guarantee everyone who attends will get one but I can't wait to see everyone to attends this wonderful exhibition.
Together, we celebrate the positive and beautiful outcome that can come from trauma in our lives. While realising, despite everything we have around us, what we truly have is everything in this moment, the time is now.
This will be a great day, full of wonderful artwork by extremely talented artist. Come down and check out the gallery!

Mandy Smith, another Solent University alumni, will be exhibiting at the a space arts Banana Split exhibition opening tomorrow night at Alfred Arcade! Mandy exhibited with us recently at the 'Make Your Mark' exhibition with her piece 'Do I fit?'.
