Lauren Storey - Osteopath

“I benefited from osteopathy early on in my life and was impressed by the philosophy of working with the body physically to reach its full health potential and so I enrolled to study osteopathy. I completed the 4 year course at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, receiving my Bsc(hons) Osteopathic Medicine in 2008.

After an 18 month spell working in New Zealand I began to develop a much deeper interest in the treatment of children and women during pregnancy, so I returned to England to study at the Osteopathic Centre for Children gaining a Diploma with distinction in paediatric osteopathy. I went on to volunteer within the clinic and now am a clinical teacher and lecturer which allows me to continue working along side some of the best paediatric osteopaths in the country.

Since graduating I have also completed a further 600 hours of continued professional development designed to further my skills of palpation and treatment including using ‘cranial’ techniques and a foundation level in treatment using the Classical approach, for which I am now working towards the 3 year diploma.

As well as specialising in paediatric and obstetric osteopathy I see a wide range of patients who are keen to use osteopathy, not only to alleviate musculoskeletal pain, but also to improve their overall health and wellbeing. ”

Sharisse Wainman - Osteopath

“I've been working in the health and fitness industry for 15 years and so have also trained as a Pilates instructor, nutritional therapist and sports massage therapist, with additional training in medical acupuncture, ultrasound treatment and kinesiology taping. I have also completed training in order to be able to provide custom-made orthotics for both adults and children.

I love being an osteopath and am hugely enthusiastic about osteopathy, having observed the positive changes it can make to people’s physical and mental wellbeing. As a one-to-one Pilates instructor, it’s also incredibly satisfying helping people work towards a healthier, more active life. ”

As an osteopath I treat many types of conditions from migraine prevention to back pain to nerve problems such as sciatica. I also have a special interest in osteopathy for babies /children, pregnancy and sports injuries. Additionally, I have recently spent a year of post graduate study at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in Wandsworth. ”

Annie-Marie Osborne - Massage therapist

“I take a particular interest in the naturopathic approach to treatment and received the Naturopathy prize for my achievements at university last year. I am a strong believer in treating patients as unique individuals considering not only the presenting complaint, but lifestyle factors, job related stressors and nutrition within my treatment plans too.

As well as using a naturopathic approach, I use my Osteopathic principles in order to treat patients holistically. I assess all predisposing and maintaining factors related to soft tissue dysfunction, enabling me to achieve the best possible results from my treatments.

In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the countryside on my horse, training for obstacle races /mud runs as well as reading up on the latest advances in Osteopathic care. I am thoroughly looking forward to joining the team of therapists at Somacare”
