Sophie Gallie Dance Academy Description
Since it's beginning in 2011, SGDA has grown enormously in student numbers and by reputation. The academy prides itself on the welcoming warm, caring family atmosphere which no doubts brings out the best in the students.
SGDA provides excellent training in ballet, tap, jazz, modern and contemporary dance; classes which are all taught by Miss Gallie.
Students with the required ability are encouraged to audition for associate and /or full-time places with other schools and performance companies, for example Arts Educational School (Tring), Elmhurst School of Dance, The Hammond School, Laine Theatre Arts, The London Studio Centre, Northern Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School, and The Urdang Academy.
Miss Gallie fully understands the importance of each student and so strives to provide the best learning experience for each individual whether that be vocational or recreational. Children gain confidence and self assurance throughout the varying classes and develop musicality, friendships, fun and an overall enjoyment of dance. Whether students want to dance once a week or want to take dance to the next level, she can guide you in the right direction.

❤ We are missing all of your smiley faces already ❤ Tomorrow is your first day of 'home-school' if your teachers are setting you work for home, remember, even though this isn't ideal for anyone... make the best of a bad situation, I mean school in pj's that's a bonus right?! It's only for a short time... we will soon all be back to normal. Go on, smash it kids ❤
It is with great regret that we have decided to pause classes from Friday, 20th March. This is a very difficult decision to make, but in the current climate we are left with little option. The pleasure we get from working with such brilliant young people every week can’t be overstated, and we’re reminding ourselves that it won’t be too long before things can resume as normal.
In the meantime, the coming months will be tough for our business, and your ongoing support would be ...greatly appreciated.
We’re working hard to figure out exactly what that means, and are currently reviewing options. Whatever we decide, we’ll be in touch really soon.

We spent some time in class yesterday talking about Coronavirus and answering lots of questions that the children had, it's a confusing time for them and so let's support them in the best way possible.
WOH has created this fantastic poster to help us, as adults, support our young ones through this.
⭐ So proud of these two little ladies right here... it was such a privilege to watch them both at their Parents' Day demonstration. The improvement they've made since joining @thehammond in September is amazing!

🙌🏻🙌🏻 Huge congratulations to Sofia who was thrilled to hear that she has won the NODA District 4 award for Best Female Youth performance in an adult product for her role as Annie. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Her mum Nita says, “She now goes through to the NW finals in May later this year. She was in 5 dance numbers in the show and her work at SGDA was evident. Being able to dance in MT is more and more important, no more getting away with strong singing and acting!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍”
