Service update:
It's a very busy weekend for us with five weddings to keep us occupied. It may be a bit quiet on here for a few days but we'll be back with you all as soon as we can. In the meantime...here are some pretty flowers for you! 🌸😅

We've had a lovely time working hard out in the fresh air this morning, getting our LOVE letters all spruced up and ready for the weekend's weddings. Nothing beats sunshine and a fresh coat of paint for making things shiny and new!

Look at this lovely photo of Katy Harston Violinist playing away on Sunday in the middle of our ceremony decor. Go and have a check of this lady's page if you're after some beautiful music for your big day. We were thoroughly entertained by the Game of Thrones theme drifting down the corridors, and I'm rather nerdily in love after hearing her playing pieces from The Lord of the Rings - but one bride was just desperate to book her for a classical treatment of Baby Shark! 😆 This lady certainly offers some variety!

We were lucky enough to snitch the very last goody bag left at the end of yesterday's wedding fair. We've just had the time to dive into it and ooh, cookies! Looking forward to having these with a brew as a little treat while we get our heads into some wedding admin. (I may have lost half an hour to having a good drool over the pictures at Linda Hofmann Cakes!) 😅

Our blossom trees went down an absolute storm at yesterday's wedding fair! We can't WAIT to provide these beautiful show pieces for our lovely new brides and grooms. ☺️

Well we had a cracking few days over the weekend, helping on weddings and meeting lots of new brides and grooms at Holiday Inn Hull Marina's wedding fair. We're really looking forward to sharing lots of images with you as soon as we're done with today's demos and admin.
Congratulations first to Natalie & Matty, who married on Saturday at the Holiday Inn with a bold and beautiful navy and red colour scheme. (More photos to come.)

A little sneak peek of our room dressing for the wedding fayre at Holiday Inn Hull Marina tomorrow. Pop and see us tomorrow and you'll be able to see both ceremony and reception rooms all dressed up and wedding ready.
The hotel's wedding coordinator will be on hand to talk you through their wedding packages (which include some dressing from the Shindigs crew), AND there'll be lots of other wedding suppliers on site so you can do a good bit of shopping for your big day.

We're just ever so slightly in love with our new blossom trees. Can't wait to get these all set up properly at Holiday Inn Hull Marina this Sunday for their spring wedding fair - because what says spring more than blossom? 🌸😍🌸

Come see us on Sunday at Holiday Inn Hull Marina. We'll be dressing both ceremony and reception suites as if for a real wedding, so this is a great chance to see our work in person. We'll also be sticking around and offering private appointments after the fayre if any of you lovely ladies and gents would like to sit down and properly talk about all things wedding. We've been hard at work today dressing the aisle for a very beautiful mid-week wedding. Congratulations to Rebecca & Mark who have just tied the knot at the fabulous Dunedin House! We think our vintage-look gold candlesticks and pristine white runner looked brill.

Sunday Supplier Shout-out!
We had the pleasure of meeting DJ Darren at Bonus Arena, Hull last Sunday - and what a pleasant chap! When choosing your wedding suppliers, it's a big tick in the box if you can find someone you can talk to and actually get along with. Never underestimate the importance of an approachable DJ who will listen to what you want and read the room on your wedding day. A good DJ makes the difference between a dead dance-floor and a party to remember!

Wedding fairs aren't just a good day out for anyone planning a wedding. They're also great fun for US, as we get to spend the day meeting hundreds of new faces. As well as getting to talk to dozens of brides and grooms with all sorts of fabulous themes, we get the chance to chat to a whole room full of other talented industry professionals. Just look at all the great suppliers we got to meet at the weekend - and shamelessly, shamelessly rob of all their promotional materials! 😬😅
I think I feel some supplier shout-outs coming on...

Well it's been a very busy few days for us! The phone has been ringing off the hook today with enquiries and we're rapidly filling up this summer's remaining dates. We're almost at capacity now with some of our prime dates so if you'd still like to book us for your 2019 wedding then please do give us a shout so we can check our calendar for you. Remember - there's just a 20% deposit to book in, so no big bills and plenty of time to save.

We ordered the backdrop last thing (literally the week before the wedding) and Sophie was extremely accomodating and contacted me back straight away. She stayed around on the day to move the backdrop after the ceremony for the meal - was very happy to suit our needs. Just what you need and felt very confident with her :) thank you so much xx

We met Sophie and her father at a wedding fayre in the holiday inn, both Sophie and her father was very happy in helping us on the day, we decided straight away that we would choose Sophie to make our day that little bit extra special, after countless messages any time of the day Sophie always replied with a smile to answer loads of questions, we were then invited to her home to have our consultation. Sophie and her farther were very professional from start to finish, a real pleasure to meet and made our day extra special and stress free. Highly recommended . Thanks again love Matt & Charley

We hired the 4ft LOVE letters and postbox for our wedding and we absolutely loved them! The LOVE letters looked great. Sophie was so lovely and super responsive to messages. We had our wedding on 1st July 2017 at The Country Park Hessle and Sophisticated Shindigs decorated the venue for us. First class service from start to finish. Sophie and her father were brilliant and always helpful and cheerful when we needed them. We chose white chair covers with lemon ribbons and also had the starlight top table cloth, back drop, starlight archway and the post box. The venue looked fantastic, please have a look at the photo's Sophie has posted on this page. We had our perfect wedding day on saturday 11th august and were supplied with top table and cake skirts, starlit back drop and aisle runner with petals and lanterns.

Its everything we imagined and more and we couldnt be happier with the service provided. The room wouldnt of been the same without these gorgeous extra touches and everyone complimented on how beautiful the room was.

We had our starlit back drop moved from our ceremony room to our reception room which was done very professionally. We didnt even notice, as they moved it while we had photos as promised! Myself and my husband was blown away by how beautiful our rooms were so thank you sophisticated shindigs for providing us with your excellent services and adding an extra special touch to our perfect wedding day! Xxx

We first met sophie at a wedding Fair where she was very helpful in helping us with our centre pieces which we booked ..... a few months later we was let down by another company for our backdrop so I contacted sophie to help which she was more then happy to help with .... sophie was really helpful all the way though the planning of how we wanted our set up.... Saturday 26th August 2017 was our wedding day and when we arrived to our venue we was taken to go see our room .... we was blown away with how beautiful it looked ... sophie u are amazing and thank you so much at helping make our wedding go perfectly 💕

Thank-you very much for your set-up of my room at my wedding :) you totally shindigged the room out and made it look so pretty , everyone of my family and friends commented on how nice it looked. Would definatly recommend you to everyone that i can :)

Sophisticated shindigs were absolutely faultless with helping us make our wedding Perfect! Sophie decorated our tables with stunning candelabras and chair covers to go with out vintage theme!Her communication was great and nothing was too much trouble!! I felt relaxed on the wedding day knowing Sophie had everything in order! We would highly recommend!

Sophie was so helpful when discussing what I wanted for our venue. The colour of the sashes was perfect and the log slices we hired for the centre of the tables looked fab. In the week before the wedding I asked about a bigger piece of log for the cake stand and Sophie replied so quickly. That piece was so big it took 2 people to carry it in and the cake looked wonderful on it. Thank you so much for making our reception room looks so wonderful.

Sophie helped me out at last minute with an aisle runner for my wedding in October. She put me at ease straight away and her prices were very competitive. Sophie replied to my messages straight away and knew exactly the look I was going for with my autumn theme.

Really can’t recommend Sophie and Sophisticated shindigs enough x

We used her for everything - from the table decorations (everyone commented how lovely the tree with lilac rose centrepieces were) chair covers, twinkle back drop, wedding post box. She listened to what we wanted & advised us accordingly. At a competitive price too!

Everything was easy & straight forward & Sophie made our day extra special. Thank you xx

I would recommend Sophie to do your chair covers/bows and table runners on your wedding day, Sophie was helpful from the day I contacted her and helped me choose the perfect colored bows for our chairs and runners for the table which went perfect with our wedding theme. I would just like to say I have only 2 days ago been in contact with sophie to organise chaircovers/ribbons for my reception in November and her response has been phenomenal. She has explained everything to me. Gave me options. Ideas! I can honestly say I'm excited now and trust sophie whole heartedly !!

I got the table skirt package for my wedding at Lazaats - they looked absolutely amazing made the room look much more prettier .. Communication with Sophie was absolutely amazing she went above and beyond to help me when I gave her the wrong date in the beginning .. Thank you so so much for all you did you made it look perfect I would defiantly recommend you 100% !!
