There is something incredibly romantic about winter weddings.

We got married here on Friday 10th March 2017 and are so so pleased we chose this beautiful venue for our reception!!!

Jasmine and David were incredibly helpful and worked to meet our needs.

Everything was great, the venue was beautiful, they had just had a new decking put out and we were the first wedding to use it - it's gorgeous!

I highly recommend Sopley Mill as a wedding venue, it is completely worth the money and the guests were commenting all night on what a great venue we had hired for our day.

We got married at Sopley Mill on Saturday and it was the perfect venue for our perfect day. Our guests cannot stop telling us how stunning it is. It suited us perfectly and the freedom of the outside space and indoor space was exactly what we needed. I would like to say a special thank you to Jasmine for all her hard work and support, right up to the very last moment.

We got married at Sopley Mill in October 2016 and had a wonderful day in a beautiful setting. We chose Sopley as it is a beautifully restored building, which gave our guests the space and freedom to spread over the 3 floors as they wished. Our day was perfect: even though it rained, it didn't matter! David and Lucy are friendly, professional and well practised at creating a smooth running, stress-free day for wedding couples. The attention to detail is excellent and they, along with Jasmine, are there to answer any question, no matter how small and no matter how busy they are! David and Jasmine were present on the day itself, ensuring everything looked how it should before the guests arrived. We are so pleased we chose Sopley for our wedding day and our guests loved the venue too. We would certainly recommend Sopley to future couples considering the venue for their ceremony and reception.

We loved that they were able to offer us the freedom to do our own decorations, this was something we both wanted as it gave it a very personal touch for us, and they even let us set up the day before the wedding as they didn't have any back to back weddings that week. This was really kind of them and made the actual wedding day run really smoothly but also helped us cut costs and stay on budget.

Sopley Mill provided us with all the details we needed after we booked the venue, David and Jasmine were brilliant if we had any questions and got back to us via email very quickly!



The the bar company the Mill used (Toms Bars) was truly excellent and he catered to our every need on the day.

The DJ they used (WePerform) was brilliant too and they really worked with us for our evening playlist and played as many songs as possible that we wanted.



This venue is perfect for anyone who wants a stunning venue, and one that doesn't break your bank account either. We got so many good comments from our guests on how beautiful it all was! The views across the lake are gorgeous and a perfect place for photos, we were very lucky with the weather, but even if its raining the building itself is full of character with plenty of rustic features like old wooden beams, the open fireplace and the window where the water wheels once was is so pretty and makes a stunning feature on the wedding day!

We highly recommend to anyone wanting a place full of character and beautiful views! We had the most amazing day here!

The entire team are faultless, great communication and never a problem for us to come over and visit in the run up to measure bits and pieces. This was actually the first venue we viewed and although we had visited others later that day by the end of the afternoon we had made up our mind and before we knew it we'd fixed our wedding date!

We were incredibly lucky with the weather on the day and due to how flexible the venue and team are, were able to pretty much do what we liked with the place.

All our guests loved the location and setting, it really is the perfect setting for a perfect day!

Sopley Mill is very quaint set amidst picturesque surroundings and a lovely babbling brook. It is the venue for our daughter's wedding in April 2019 and promises to be a hugely successful location for the joyous celebrations.

Sopley Mill is such a beautiful venue and I love photographing weddings there! The meadow surroundings are stunning and it's a complete blank canvas for couples to decorate exactly the way they like and pull in their own suppliers to make their day perfect. My favourite venue in Dorset! See you again on Saturday when I'll be photographing another wedding at Sopley Mill :)

My husband and I were married at Sopley Mill on 9th July 2017.



The Mill and its grounds are simply stunning - every single one of our guests said the same! The organising and communication with the owners was fantastically laid back and simple. Just what we needed.



The Mill is very flexible as the unique selling point is the fact it is hired as a 'blank canvas' venue. This enabled us to pick and choose exactly what we wanted for the day. We were able to have an outdoor barbecue for our daytime food and a fish and chip van in the evening. Perfect.



The staff were both friendly and professional and were able to facilitate everything we asked for. No other venues we viewed were anywhere near as flexible!



They even accommodated a wooden sweet cart in their office for me, the day before the wedding!

WOW!!!



We had the best wedding day. It all ran so smoothly, I can honestly say not other venue would have been the same for us. We had compliments galore about what a fantastic day everyone had, Also about how beautiful the venue was. Evan the weather did not spoil our day. All the suppliers where also fantastic, it just runs like clockwork. I had no problems through the day. The Entertainment in the evening was fantastic we all danced the night away. The bar staff looked after everyone and i never had an empty glass.

From the moment we stepped into sopley mill we knew it was the venue for our wedding on 26th October 2017. We loved that it was a blank canvas and that we could add our own touch to make our day personal. Any questions that we had were answered quickly and nothing was ever too much trouble. I was worried on the day about how it would run as we didn't have a coordinator but I honestly had nothing to worry about. The bar staff and our caterers made sure everything ran smoothly and were both fantastic too! I would highly recommend sopley mill to anyone who asks!

Fell in love with the Mill when I saw it and knew I wanted to get married here. We were very lucky to have Jasmine and then Rosamund as our points of contact from the start and they made it easy to arrange and the admin side of things was all clear. The Suppliers they have are absolutely fantastic and Sopley wouldn’t be half the place it is without them. We were put in touch with various companies and the day was made so easy thanks to their hard work. We had the most perfect wedding. Thank you to David for the loan of this beautiful mill and the surroundings. Your vision for the mill has created a wonderful business and we’re very lucky and honoured to have been married here.

Attended a wedding it's beautiful setting and we were well looked after by friendly staff nothing too much trouble and very well organised. Drinks a bit pricey but other than that it was a very positive experience

Attended a wedding here yesterday and it is simply beautiful! The mill its self is really unique and renovated perfectly, the grounds are stunning and the fairy lights hung around the fences and across the river made it truly magical when they sun went down. Perfect setting for a wedding. Highly recommend this location.

Attended a wedding at Sopley Mill last week end. Set on three levels, there is a lift but awfully slow, wasn't brave enough to use it. You have to decorate the rooms yourself, thats good cause you know it will be just what you want. There is a bridal room for those times when you just need to take a breather. The grounds are extensive, river running along one side, there is minimal outside seating. We had lots of garden sized games set out, jenga, connect 4, croquet, bowls etc which was really good. The catering company prepared amazing delicious food.

The venue was lovely, the food was delicious. The staff were very attentive and worked extremely hard. The only downside for us was the lift! My wife has MS and had to use the lifts but the instructions were a bit confusing. She would get in it and select one floor and end up on the wrong floor and it seemed If someone had left the key in and turned they did not work. We saw the DJ's struggling with their gear trying to figure out how to work it so It was not just us. Otherwise a perfect day.

Lovely setting, blank canvas can design how you want. Some things unhappy with but I've made clear in emails with Sopley mill nothing major but this is why I can only give a 3 star not 5 star. Its a shame really wanted to give a 5 but I cant lie. Didn't ruin my day at the time but will always remember a few downsides to it.

My best friend booked her dream wedding venue here, caught up in all the fairy tale wedding unfortunately she placed the booking and secured it with the deposit, she was unaware that the price was not including food and also added extras of cleaning and glass hire on top .. they scrimped and saved to pay off the balance well ahead in good time but the financial pressure really took its toll and her dream day was quickly turning into a nightmare as her and her fiance argued and were on the verge of splitting up! They made the decision to cancel at sopley mill and opt for a low key affair to ease the pressure, sopley mill have flatly refuse to reimburse them there money , I understand they would keep the deposit but it's an absolute joke that they are keeping the rest of the £2500!!!!! ****** Beware of what your letting your self in for at this venue******

All the suppliers where also fantastic, it just runs like clockwork. I had no problems through the day. The Entertainment in the evening was fantastic we all danced the night away. The bar staff looked after everyone and i never had an empty glass.

From the moment we stepped into sopley mill we knew it was the venue for our wedding on 26th October 2017. We loved that it was a blank canvas and that we could add our own touch to make our day personal. Any questions that we had were answered quickly and nothing was ever too much trouble. I was worried on the day about how it would run as we didn't have a coordinator but I honestly had nothing to worry about. The bar staff and our caterers made sure everything ran smoothly and were both fantastic too! I would highly recommend sopley mill to anyone who asks!

Fell in love with the Mill when I saw it and knew I wanted to get married here. We were very lucky to have Jasmine and then Rosamund as our points of contact from the start and they made it easy to arrange and the admin side of things was all clear. The Suppliers they have are absolutely fantastic and Sopley wouldn’t be half the place it is without them. We were put in touch with various companies and the day was made so easy thanks to their hard work. We had the most perfect wedding. Thank you to David for the loan of this beautiful mill and the surroundings. Your vision for the mill has created a wonderful business and we’re very lucky and honoured to have been married here.

Attended a wedding it's beautiful setting and we were well looked after by friendly staff nothing too much trouble and very well organised. Drinks a bit pricey but other than that it was a very positive experience

Attended a wedding here yesterday and it is simply beautiful! The mill its self is really unique and renovated perfectly, the grounds are stunning and the fairy lights hung around the fences and across the river made it truly magical when they sun went down. Perfect setting for a wedding. Highly recommend this location.

Attended a wedding at Sopley Mill last week end. Set on three levels, there is a lift but awfully slow, wasn't brave enough to use it. You have to decorate the rooms yourself, thats good cause you know it will be just what you want. There is a bridal room for those times when you just need to take a breather. The grounds are extensive, river running along one side, there is minimal outside seating. We had lots of garden sized games set out, jenga, connect 4, croquet, bowls etc which was really good. The catering company prepared amazing delicious food.

The venue was lovely, the food was delicious. The staff were very attentive and worked extremely hard. The only downside for us was the lift! My wife has MS and had to use the lifts but the instructions were a bit confusing. She would get in it and select one floor and end up on the wrong floor and it seemed If someone had left the key in and turned they did not work. We saw the DJ's struggling with their gear trying to figure out how to work it so It was not just us. Otherwise a perfect day.

Lovely setting, blank canvas can design how you want. Some things unhappy with but I've made clear in emails with Sopley mill nothing major but this is why I can only give a 3 star not 5 star. Its a shame really wanted to give a 5 but I cant lie. Didn't ruin my day at the time but will always remember a few downsides to it.

My best friend booked her dream wedding venue here, caught up in all the fairy tale wedding unfortunately she placed the booking and secured it with the deposit, she was unaware that the price was not including food and also added extras of cleaning and glass hire on top .. they scrimped and saved to pay off the balance well ahead in good time but the financial pressure really took its toll and her dream day was quickly turning into a nightmare as her and her fiance argued and were on the verge of splitting up! They made the decision to cancel at sopley mill and opt for a low key affair to ease the pressure, sopley mill have flatly refuse to reimburse them there money , I understand they would keep the deposit but it's an absolute joke that they are keeping the rest of the £2500!!!!! ****** Beware of what your letting your self in for at this venue******
