About South Coast Cqb

Welcome to THE Urban Airsoft Location in the South! We are pleased to announce that we will be holding regular events at this location. . . .

South Coast Cqb Description

The camp has been used by the Royal Marines Small Arms Corps (1922–1959), South East District as a Minor Training Facility in 1961 and 121 Weekend Training Centre up to the mid-1970s. The current predominant use now for Browndown Camp is by ACF, CCF, ATC & Territorial Army units for Adult training and Cadet courses. It was also transformed into a 1950's National Service camp for the 2002 ITV reality show Lad's Army.

Facilities at the Camp included accommodation for Soldiers, NCOs and Officers, a cook house for Soldiers, indoor lecture room / cinema, Sgts mess, Officers mess, various other buildings within the camp perimeter. Outside the perimeter an Assault Course and a 25 Metre Range, the beach is used for training, and is ideal for beach landing practice due to the location to Marchwood, the old Fort proved useful for defence exercise but not up to any decent OBUA type exercise.

After taking on board the Government guidelines, I have made the decision to postpone all events.
If you have paid a deposit for any upcoming Open Day or Evening Event, we ask you under these extraordinary times that we can defer your deposit which can be used when we re-open once the government have relaxed their isolation protocols. The website will be updated with new game dates once we can confirm plans to re-open
Our annual El Contador Event will still be going ahead, w...e have invested too much time and money for it not to happen, we will try our best to stick to the date planned, but health & safety is paramount. We'll update you IF a new date needs to be arranged.

On a personal note, I'd like to thank you all for your messages of support and I'd like to thank my team for their help through all this.

** Another Important Announcement ** (sorry)
It's with regret I that I have to cancel the Work Day and Evening Game this Saturday, there are a number of factors involved, but we aim to have another one when its warmer and we have the right materials needed to get the site upgraded.

Further to my post this morning, it would be a big help if we got a sense of how many of you might be attending this Thursday evening, not asking you to book via the website just like this post if you're thinking about it so I can get staff numbers sorted and rooms prepped
* EDIT *
IT IS OUR PISTOL AND SHOTGUN EVENING GAME THIS THURSDAY...

** Important Announcement **
I apologise for the very long announcement, but getting the right information out is Important , but the one thing you all want to know is, are we still running? The short answer to that is Yes!!
I have always been honest in my posts regarding South Coast CQB and today I have made the decision to stay open not through greed, but it is financially driven, like many other Site Owners, I have no Plan B or a shop to fall back on.
... The Announcement made by the Government yesterday was to advise “that people should also stop all unnecessary travel and work from home where they can, and avoid pubs, clubs, theatres and other social spaces”, we obviously fall into that category, so I really need to emphasise, that IT IS YOUR DECISION WHETHER YOU PLAY OR NOT AT SOUTH COAST CQB, we will continue to run on Thursdays and fortnightly Sundays if the demand is there or until such time it becomes illegal to run.
We are, as a Site, continuing to take every precaution to ensure minimising potential exposure, in the light of the Government’s guidance regarding the current outbreak of Co-Vid 19 we ask if any players or their families are showing any symptoms themselves of cough or cold, however minor or have underlying health issues to avoid coming to future events.
The Further Steps we are taking are
• The Burger Van will not be available for the foreseeable future to minimise crowding, so you will need to provide your own lunch • Our Safe Zone Surface Area will increase to give players more personal space • Rentals will be available as they are cleaned before and after, this includes the eyepro too • We have plenty of hand sanitizers and wipes available to use, in the toilets and in the Safe Zone, we will also have hot water and soap if required. • All the staff will be wearing gloves to protect you and themselves • Times between Games will be shortened to minimise time indoors • Spacing between each other during the Safety Brief and Game Briefs should be sensible • The whole Safe Zone will be available on Thursday Evening Games
More measures will be brought in to protect you and the Staff as time goes on and we will continue to provide you with a great day of Airsoft until we’re told to stop or you guys decide not to come.
For those who have booked for El Contador, we do still intend to run this Event at this time; we will inform you by email of any changes to this Event.
A further announcement on the Work Day will be made tomorrow
If you have concerns please message the Facebook Group or comment below

** Important Announcement **
We have changed our booking system to reflect the current health situation. From April we will no longer be taking bookings for Open Days up to Three months in advance, it will be done on a 1 game in advance basis. If you have already booked for any April Sunday games, your booking still stands.
We will be also increasing our surface area in the Safe Zone from April, so you guys have a little more personal space.
... The only "Sunday Game" that this doesnt affect is our El Contador Event in May, for now this WILL be going ahead.
Night games on Thursdays will continue as normal as will Saturdays when they are brought in.

Evening guys, bit of mixed bag today, non hit taking reared its ugly head again, many have said it happens everywhere, but I'm at a loss to why at South Coast CQB? The weather conditions may have played a part but we're not a big Site compared to others, so you don't have walk far to respawn. The majority of you who played today, were there to have fun and left enjoying the day. The minority who spoilt it for others, leave your troubles at the gate and play fair in future.
We move on to our Thursday evening game, head to website to get yourself on the list.

We Are Still Running Tomorrow

I have recently seen a post from Mad Mommas Airsoft and I believe it sums up the current health situation, I dont normally copy from other sites but I think its relevant to us too, I haven't edited it to include our Site name and I have permission from the OP.
Coronavirus - COVID-19 and Airsoft
With all the focus at present on the emerging and rapidly evolving situation, MMA would be ignorant to not address concerns.
... This virus has been named "SARS-CoV-2" and the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee of the World Health Organisation declared the outbreak a "public health emergency of international concern on January 31 2020.
The Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals, including camels, cattle, cats and bats. Rarely, animal Coroaviruses can infect people and then spread between people and then spread between people such as with MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV, and now with this new virus (named SARS-CoV-2).
The complete clinical picture with regard to COVID-19 is not fully know. Reported illnesses have ranged from very mild (including some with no reported symptons) to severe, including illness resulting in death.
So why are we addressing this? Well as an events organiser we have to consider the mixed "gathering of people" and are we increasing the risk level exposing people who would normally not come in contact with each other? We are taking all the information out there in the public domain on a day to day basis, and adhering to the most basic of safety advice being advised to us all.
If you feel unwell and are booked into one of our events, please consider your symptons and the current situation within the UK. If you have returned of late from an infected area with Europe or other, again please consider your movements and the possible risk associated.
Mad Momma's Airsoft will continue as normal, but IF the authorities instruct "gatherings" to alter their schedules then unfortunately we will have to conform. This latest situation is going to be with us for a while, and while we maybe fed up of hearing about it, we all have a responsibility to reduce the risk as best we can.
Symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) are a cough, high temperature and shortness of breath. But these symptons do not necessarily mean you have the illness. The symptons are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.
Thank you Momma & the MMA Support Team.
