Peggy is doing a sterling job hauling our trains for our last weekend. We’re open until 3:30pm today and then tomorrow from 11am until 3:30pm. Hope to see you here sometime over the weekend for our last running days of the season.

Hi everyone, just a quick reminder that we’re open today from 11:00 to 15:30.
We’ll be open next Saturday too, but due to the Velo South Cycle Event we will be closed all day on Sunday 23rd September.
The following weekend of the 29th and 30th September will be our last running days before we close for Autumn maintenance and preparations for a special visitor in December.

It’s tomorrow! The Teddies are excited, are you?

Next weekend is our annual teddy bears picnic! We will have a bouncy castle, model railways, fairground rides and face painting. As well as 2 passenger trains and a very special little visitor pulling the goods train!

This time next week the Teddies will have had their first picnic. Who’s coming along to join them??

Come down to our railway with your little ones for a Family friendly fun packed day, full of activities, things to see and of course trains! Special attractions include: A bouncy castle Swing Boats Fair Games Model Railways... Teddy Bear Search Face painting Two passenger trains and one goods train for teddies!
Tickets are £5 each (adult and Children). This includes unlimited train rides, access to the green area, where you can have a picnic and have a go at the games and rides. (one ride on each ride included with the Ticket, extras rides can be added for a small charge). Face painting is also available for the little ones, included in the price of their ticket.
All trains will stop at Hardham Halt where there will be a fantastic displays of model railways of all different sizes.

Today we have Two trains out! Alice will be joined by Flying Scotsman! Also as it's Mothers Day all Mums will get a free Potted Plant! (Whilst Stocks Last)

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us this weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we look foreward to the rest of the 2018 season!

Wonderful Santa special today, absolutely magical and no massive queues! Our girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves (as did we!) and they were thrilled with their presents. We'll certainly be back next year and also when the railway reopens in March.

We had a very enjoyable afternoon at the SDLR yesterday, the Santa special train perfect - as was the mulled wine (for the adults) and presents for the children. Santa and his team of helpers - excellent. Must be our 7th year of attending the Santa specials - hopefully a few more to come!

We had a lovely experience on the Santa special train today. No queue at all. Staff were incredibly warm and friendly. Santa and his helpers were extremely patient with my son who was a little bit nervous at first. Really lovely gift for my son and mulled wine for the adults. Would heartily recommend.

This is amazing just wish it ran on a week day too.

The family and I went on the santa ride before christmas, we all loved it, and my 2 year old loved it so much he still talks about it now. So we went out on the Belle ride today, and it was excellent, we all totally loved it. can't wait until the next one!!!

Our Grandson's visit to Father Christmas was a delight. The whole experience was well thought out and the railway looked very festive. There was a train ride to the 'North Pole' station where we were welcomed with mulled wine, a model railway layout entertained the children while we waited for our turn to see Father Christmas. His grotto was well decorated and very cosy, he chatted to our Grandson before giving him a very good present. We then had another train ride back. Thank you to the volunteers who run the railway for making our day very memorable.

My boys (4 & 5) love the train rides. They love spotting all the toys that are visible on the journey and the long tunnel. There are also no cancellations or delays to the trains 😉

Great way to spend a few hours. We did the 4 trip ticket and enjoyed a ride in the sun.

Fab little ride on the train. Kids loved it and enjoyed trying to find the eggs for Easter. Low in cost and staff all very friendly! Definitely going again!

Charming railway, enthusiastic and welcoming staff, all volunteers, who were more than happy to answer all of my inquisitive boy's many many questions and to tell my kids all about the engines and the railway. Thank you for sharing your hard work with us, we'll be back!

Came as a visiting driver today, really enjoyed myself, staff were really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was great, will be recommending my friends to come and check it out for themselves! Keep up the good work guys!

Although the weather was not so great we had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and made our time very enjoyable. Already planning my return visit as we need to get all the bears names.

Very disappointed with our Santa visit today. Santa was the poorest we have ever visited!! Rushed us through. Didn't even ask them what they wanted for Christmas!! When I asked him aren't you going to ask them what they want? He promptly said ... "I have a que.. If I ask every kid we'd be here all day.. Kids write me a list"!! They looked at him in bewilderment. They were so excited before, and after actually said that Santa was really grumpy - he's def not the real one!! He also man handled the kids for a photo which I didn't know was happening the minute we walked in, and he said - do you have a camera then?? So so poor and so so disappointed!! Big big waste of £32!!
