Wow what can i say.. what a beautiful hotel with stunning views. The staff are all really friendly. We were there today for a ladies afternoon tea. The food was lovely. Definitely will be back. �

What an awesome way to celebrate our 20th anniversary! The service has been consistently excellent from the reception team, to the bar staff to housekeeping - we feel we've been spoilt rotten.



We had dinner in The Pass restaurant and were blown away! Each course served by the chefs themselves were presented as a work of art - what's more each dish was a taste sensation! Thank you for making our anniversary extra special! �

We booked a year ago to celebrate our 8th Anniversary as we also got married at South Lodge and had a wonderfull day. We had planned to stay in the Godmin suite as we did on our wedding night as we didn’t have time to use the hot tub, however when we arrived building works for the new spa were underway outside the window which we had been unaware of. Now although we were obviously disappointed the hotel (Lisa) went out of their way to recompense us. We were offered complimentary drinks while other rooms were prepared - we chose Monarch, a huge suite with great views across the grounds with a very discounted rate which turned the disappointment into Joy. Before dinner in the Pass the hotel again gave a us further complimentary drink. We chose the 8 course tasting menu with wine flight - Dominic the Pass Manager educated us on the selection of wines which he later wrote out for us. The food was incredible and my wife and I can safely say this was one of the greatest meals of our lives. We finished the evening with an Irish coffee and Martini Expresso made to perfection. An excellent nights sleep was followed as the bed was also one of the comfiest we had ever slept in. Breakfast again was all you could want and we finished off our stay with a stroll round the grounds. We will definitely be back when the Spa is finished.

To celebrate my birthday with family I booked afternoon tea at South Lodge. We’ve been coming to the hotel for a few years so I knew we would have a lovely time. This year I had numerous dietary requirements but the staff at the hotel were brilliant at accommodating me and ensured that my food tasted just as good as everyone else’s. Thank you for a great birthday afternoon!

Stayed here for only one night but it was amazing. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The room was beautiful. Food was amazing. Hope I get to stay here again.

Stayed at South Lodge last night for my 40th, afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast were all excellent. Husband had told the hotel about my dairy free dietary requirements and the staff could not have been more prepared or more helpful. Excellent service all round. Look forward to my next visit.

Staff polite and friendly... nothing too much trouble... I wanted lemon green tea and I had sliced lemons given to me... Bar staff fantastic so helpful... Stayed in bar til about 10 with cocktails The Bedroom was out of this world clean tidy beautifully decorated ...

Arrived n greeted about 330 by amazing front of house staff... Ended with polite staff... breakfast again staff fantastic n food superb... Recommend the eggs benidict.. My other half had cooked breakfast.... Really was an amazing stay and recommend to any one looking for romantic get away... Only downside I needed another night so much to see...as rained so couldn't go and walk around the grounds.. Thank you most memorable time x

Lovely staff (especially Greg who was a gem). Our room Lady Clementine was beautiful and cosy. The food in both resturants was superb especially The Pass. We had the 10 course taster menu and wines which was expensive but so worth it! A delightful experience. The chefs were explaining each course as they were served. Overall I loved this place. Can't recommend it high enough. Thank you 🖒�

Love it first visit will be coming again. Dog friendly, people friendly, beautiful grounds, beautiful accommodation, beautiful staff happy smiley all the time Vivian and Lisa reception, room service staff, bar staff and restaurant staff.

Junior suite was beautiful, dinner in The Pass is an experience not to be missed. Ian and his team of chefs are theatrical geniuses! Wine cellar worth a visit though definitely some easy improvements to be made there. We will be back!

I would just like to thank all the wonderful staff at south lodge who truly made my grandmas 100th birthday the most memorable day yesterday. She was truly blown away by the service and friendless of all your staff and the afternoon tea. Thank you for the cake and card.

I have been here twice, once with my brother for my 30th Birthday 2 years ago, to go to The Pass for a tasting menu, which was exquisite, the food, staff and service were amazing. It was an experience I won’t forget. And the second time was for a long weekend with my hubby to celebrate our 10 year anniversary last July. We had a stunning room that opened up straight onto the epic grounds. I had an in-room full body massage that was divine. The whole weekend was incredible, the staff couldn’t do enough to make our time special and perfect. Being able to take a walk around the magical grounds at different times of day I would highly recommend, and have a go on the tree swing. Even though they were doing building works to add some exciting new features to the place, you wouldn’t have known, it was disguised very well and only the noises of being in the middle of the countryside could be heard. It was bliss. I am very much looking forward to staying here again �

An absolutely amazing hotel. Good was superb. Not only is everything about the hotel 5*, for us it was the staff that absolutely made it-polite, kind, thoughtful - genuine lovely people and definitely one of the reasons we will be booking again!

Amazing hotel lovely staff very welcoming! Couldn’t of done more for us! so relaxing, we stayed in the lady Elenor suite which was very cosy and spacious with beautiful views the bathroom was amazing stunning walk in shower & fab free standing bath! Would highly recommend this hotel if your looking for a country relaxing luxurious break! Food was amazing too room service great all done through a tablet! Thanks to the staff for looking after us during our stay � would defiantly return again in the future

Went here for my daughters birthday treat. Super pleasant staff, very attentive. Plenty of refills tea � and cakes, sandwiches and chilled water. The only slight complaint would be the service charge. We had budgeted the afternoon. I do think that it's upto the customer to decide what tip if any to give.
