South Norfolk Climbing Club

South Norfolk's purpose-built community climbing facility, the Morley Wall, suitable for beginners to experienced climbers, children and adults.

We are a passionate and committed group of climbers, instructors and parents of children who climb who have tirelessly campaigned to maintain a climbing facility in South Norfolk following the closure of the wall at Wymondham Leisure Centre. We feel strongly that climbing offers a unique, confidence-boosting and character-building physical activity that should be available and easily accessible to the children, young people and adults of the Wymondham and South Norfolk area.

Since hearing the news about the proposed closure of the Wymondham Climbing Wall, the group have worked closely with South Norfolk Council to explore alternative solutions and have secured a significant offer of funding from them towards building a brand new, purpose built modern climbing wall at a venue on the outskirts of Wymondham, together with assistance with applying for further grants. As a result, the group have formed the South Norfolk Climbing Club to run the new wall, which will offer beginners and intermediate classes to children and adults as well as casual club sessions for more experienced climbers.

Over the coming months we will be raising the remaining funds needed to install an exciting new climbing facility in South Norfolk and we would welcome your support and encouragement both in fund-raising and spreading the word to the wider community.
