South Street Surgery

Poor service, shocking waiting time, rude receptionists and the worst medication management ive had the misfortune of dealing with.

No issues with GP's or Nurses generally very good especially the regular ones.
Reception staff hit and miss. Recently encountered a very rude, abrupt and dismissive one . She just wants to get you off the phone. She is not interested in helping you out at all. Shame because it lets down the service.

Never able to get an appointment at a convenient time. We're not in a strict 9-5 era anymore

I was really impressed by the new system of 'sit and wait'. It was a bit of a wait but I guess that is why it is referred to as a sit and WAIT clinic. The receptionists were very good and efficient and the nurse I saw was great. What I was not impressed with was a couple of the other patients who were so rude to the receptionists. The receptionists deserve a medal if they have to put up with these kind of people on a daily basis.

I have never had an issue getting a quick appointment, especially if you don't mind which GP you see (aren't they all qualified professionals anyway) The GP's and staff are always professional and polite.

The receptionists are very rude and abrupt. They ask in a loud voice what is wrong with you and I had one tut at me when I said. Overall the surgery needs improvement. 4 weeks to see a gp is disgusting

I love the fact you have a walk in surgery twice a day, I don't normally plan to be ill and don't like having to book an appointment as I'm normally better by then (I am not complaining about appointment times, same issues at any surgery I know).

Expect Receptionists to be rude, dismissive, rude, abrupt, rude and downright unpleasant. Don't be alarmed if you're asked "what are you seeing the doctor for" by the reception staff... even if it is clearly NONE of their business (yes, that happened, twice and they refused to help until I gave them an answer - astonishing). Waits are long and doctors are poor. I was once asked "what would you like me to do give to you for this?" as though I could just ask them for some pills to get me out of there. Gone are the days of friendly family doctors who know you and who might treat you as a person. Generally speaking, most people complain about this branch and the one at Bishop's Park which are all part of the same practice, mainly on the poor staffing, telephones and bad waiting times.

U try to get an appointment....hopeless. when u do advice, treatment given very poor. Easier to google symptoms....
