About South West Business Council

South West Business Council (SWBC), is a private sector led, sub regional economic partnership. National, regional and local private and public sector organisations are represented at quarterly meetings designed to enhance the competitiveness of the region and facilitate economic development. These organisations represent some 40, 000 businesses, from micro to large enterprises. As the most powerful private sector voice for the South West, SWBC is often the first point of contact for many politicians, regional journalists and programme makers. SWBC is funded by membership from key businesses in the region. Our main objectives are: - To provide a well-informed, coherent and authoritative voice to represent the business interests of the South West- To ensure that the best decisions are made to deliver sustainable economic prosperity for the South West- To work in support of our members and partners to help to achieve collective goals & aspirationsIn order to achieve these objectives: - SWBC lobbies on key issues of importance to our business community. - SWBC works at a strategic level across the peninsula, brokering high-level connections between the private, public, and third sectors. - SWBC works with organisations of any size and any sector, and are proud to include Social Enterprises and education / training providers amongst our member network.
