Great day at Bristol Harbour festival although extremely disappointed to see so many people with young children on the water without life jackets/buoyancy aids and unattached kill cords.

The first few minutes in a medical emergency can be critical. So this really is great news which will no doubt save many lives.

Come on ....be honest who’s wanted to do this before?

Mixed bag today, some from FRB capsize drill and a few from day 5 Basic safety training week. We do it how it should be done. Well done to all our students this week. High temperatures testing times.

User

After an amazing effort given the trials of sunny weather and a sparkling quarry yesterday by all who took their Personal Survival Techniques training, we are now gearing up for PSCRB & Fast Rescue Boat updates as well as Powerboat Level 2 courses the rest of this week.

User

Great effort from everyone attending the PST training today. No dramas getting the life raft righted

User

Cooling off in the water as part of today's STCW Personal Survival Techniques course. Rather envious?

Exciting and unusual job opportunity for the right person.
The owner of a yacht requests a male personal assistant. This is a land based job in London, and will involve a lot of international travel to America, Caribbean, Asia and throughout Europe.
Requested ex military background, fast tender driving ability, super fit and healthy and good organisational skills.
... Because this is a land based position you must have the right to live and work in the EU.
Great owner to work for and well paid position.
Please send CV's and covering letter to kemp.ts@gmail.com
Please mark subject line " P.A. job application"
Also please pass this on to anyone who might be suitable.
Thanks

Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this very difficult time.
Yesterday we had 11 kids that broke into the site and were caught in the lake. We appreciate how inviting the water looks especially during this weather but take note of the linked post. The last thing we want to be doing is body recovery because you don’t take note of all the warning signs around the perimeter fence.

User

A huge congratulations from all the Team for such a fantastic cause.

User

Thanks Matt, always great to hear positive feedback.

User

Just because you have the ticket it does not mean you have the experience or common sense to operate safely at sea.

User

Signed up for the basic STCW 95 course, Monday to Friday. Every day from Monday to Friday I learnt so much and came away each day with a lot more knowledge and how to handle my self in different situations.

From the first day which was first till the last day which was fire fighting(the most exciting part of the course) all of the instructors were very clear in communication and showing you how its done. Eventually you get to put all of the theory into practice in the simulations, fantastic!!! Thanks to John, Tim, Matt and the whole team at southwest maritime academy!!! Coming all the way from barbados it is definitely worth all the travel, i will be back in 5 years for sure!!

Fantastic team and facilities

User

Really friendly, accommodating and professional. A great team - from the supportive teaching from Jon to Tim, who can make a potentially dull topic interesting. Some advice for anyone booked into the STCW 5 day course, go in with a loud voice, be prepared for plenty of role play instruction and physical work. Thanks Jon and Tim.

User

People who can teach it because they have done it. Great experience.

John and his team is the only place I would take my diving school equipment to be serviced.

The work is always completed in the time I have been told and always to a high standard.

User

I’ve come across a few training centres of this kind, but hands down SWMT are at the top of their game. Great instructors. Top facilities and most importantly the course content. Thanks chaps.

User

I attended the Sea Survival course today with two fellow Crew Members from Stuart Line Cruises, based it Exmouth. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the course and found the instructor (Tim) to be professional, knowledgable, safe and very approachable. The course was fun and interactive and we feel that we have learnt a lot about how to increase the chance of survival at sea, in the event of an emergency or crisis. Thank you very much and we will be sure to recommend the course to our employer. Thanks for a great day!

User
