South West Mesothelioma Support Group

The South West Mesothelioma Support Group is based in Plymouth Devon. The group was established in 2011 to provide peer and professional support to patients who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma and their families.

Mesothelioma is an asbestos related cancer for which there is currently no cure. Plymouth and the South West are hot spots for the disease with many cases emerging among former dockyard workers and labourers.

The group also spreads asbestos and mesothelioma awareness throughout the region and raises funds to go towards the continued running of the group, the funding of a mesothelioma specialist nurse for the South West, mesothelioma research and the purchase of medical equipment which will help services support patients across the South West.
