South Westminster Community Choir Fan_Page Description

Brief History of South Westminster Community Choir:

The Choir started as the Churchill Gardens Choir, and was set up by Sing London as a cross-generational community choir with residents from The Churchill Gardens Estate, Pimlico, creating a sense of unity and belonging on the estate. At the time, there were no singing activities on the estate for children age 5 - 12 during the school holidays. Jonny Berliner was the Musical Director.

The aim was and remains, to encourage people of all abilities to sing together - the project strap line is: "Come if you love to sing, come if you think you can't".

With funding from Westminster City Council, under Musical Director, Owen Wales and Project Manager Pat Shroff, the Choir has expanded to cover a number of wards in South Westminster and become the vibrant South Westminster Community Choir it is today.
