Get ready for half term at Winchester City Mill - National Trust (just 15 mins away from your lodge) is offering more than anyone can possible fit in – but we are willing to try!
There is a pumpkin carving competition, a Halloween baking demonstration, a spooky storytelling, a milling demonstration, a cryptogram family trail (with bats no less!) and an apple harvest weekend!
Phew! Lucky you have such a comfy bed to collapse into after all that fun!

If you are visiting us for a family mini-break then why not honour the season as we approach Halloween – if monsters and goblins are too much for your little ones then perhaps a gentle foray into the world of Spooky Science at Royal Armouries Fort Nelson might be just the ticket. This promises a subtle education along with hands on activities – games, tours, wheelbarrow races, constructing, decorating and lots more!

Marwell Wildlife is always one of our favourite days out – especially at this time of year!
If you're already planning your half term, you'll find plenty to do and the zoo is only 8 miles from your front door at South Winchester Lodges!
On top of the usual animal sightings you can make and decorate your own wand, enjoy the new trail, track down 12 hidden monsters, learn how to fly a broomstick, listen to the spooky stories, dance at the Little Monsters Ball, AND have a creepy encounter with some of the resident 8 legged creepy crawlies!
