Southwold Caravan Site

We love staying at Southwold Campsite, and try to spend as much time here as we can. The staff are great, and the facilities are basic, but adequate. If it was all updated the prices would become unrealistic for us, and we wouldn't be able to enjoy our holidays any more.( Looking at you, Forestry Commission!) We found some of our fellow holiday makers unfortunately spoiled the atmosphere this summer by having open fires burning every night- we had problems with the fumes from whatever was being burned. Also, there were some fairly bold, intrusive and loud children causing disturbances quite late into the night around the toilet block. We have our own children, and so understand that they are on holiday having fun, but they didn't seem to be being supervised by anyone, and it ought to be common courtesy to ensure that your children are not up a tree inaccurately throwing water balloons at each other whilst others are trying to eat their evening meal below, coughing with the smoke from over the way's magnificent conflagration. Everything else was great! We'll be back next year!!

I was really pleased with a night stay camping at this site and would highly recommend it to anyone. Brilliant location, excellent and very helpful staff. I couldn't have chosen a better pitch. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future. Thank you.

5 stars for location, 3 for amenities which are fine but simple. Well worth a stay, but gets booked up sometimes a year in advance. The other campers are friendly, and it's a short walk from the beach, Southwold, pubs and food.

First time to south wold and this campsite..the site is more than adequate for any camper..the toilets and showers were good and served the purpose..although could of been serviced more often as they did run out of loo roll twice over a busy June weekend. Shower was lovely and hot and plenty of room. The staff were very accommodating when we changed booking arrangement 3 days before arriving. Beach fantastic and so close .overall one of the better site I've stayed in.

Having gone traveling throughout the North of the UK last summer and visiting various caravan club sites I was a little wary of this one because some of the reviews aren't great.
However we found no issues at all. We were able to swap to an available electric hook up when it became available and the staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were absolutely fine and although in need of a bit of work they served the purpose and were clean. In fact it was the best shower I had out of the sites I have visited including the caravan club sites. It is within walking distance of Southwold (about 10 mins) maybe 20 to 30 for a stroll right down to the pier. The local taxi service is good prices for those who don't want to do the walk. The only thing I would say is that they could have a few more hook up pitches but the managers will let you transfer if one becomes available while you are there. The photo I've enclosed is from the beach by the caravan park. That end of Southwold has much nicer sand and less stones too!
