Sleeping Beauty will be taking over The Spa for our annual Christmas pantomime! Families from all over Suffolk will be entertained and enthralled with this all new version of a classic tale of devilment and derring-do. Lashings of laughter, frantic frivolity, gorgeously glittering costumes, a spectacular set, and plenty of ‘he’s behind you,’ will make the 53rd Dennis Lowe Theatre Company Pantomime a memorable outing for everyone. To make it as affordable as possible we have h...eld ticket prices as last year, starting from just £11.50.
Written and directed by Suzie Lowe, this year’s hotly-anticipated show, perhaps the longest running pantomime by any single theatre company in Britain, will bring the classic fairy-tale to life with what promises to be a magical experience. Complete with a plucky heroine, a villain you’ll love to hiss at and plenty of pantomime carry on this is traditional family panto at its best, all bound up in a truly enchanting story which will appeal to everyone from 2 to 102.
FRIDAY 21st DECEMBER 2018 TO SUNDAY 6TH JANUARY 2019 Ticket Prices held for the third year! Adult £17.50 / £19.50 Child (16 and under) and Concession (Over 65, Wheelchair User and their Carer): £11.50 / £13.50 Family (2 Adults and 2 Children): £50.00 / £58.00

An all female vocal and dance delight supported by a live band...
The Vintage Vixens tell the story of how the mostly demure and forgotten housewife of the early 1900’s became the sassy, sultry and sophisticated rock chick of the 70’s. Starting in 1941, where women not only played a huge part in lifting people’s spirits during the war but also filled the vital factory and farm jobs that kept the army equipped and the population fed, we trace the rise and rise of girl power th...rough their music.
It was out of the bleak war-time period that The Andrews Sisters became iconic military pin ups while telling the world about their avant garde Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and it was men that increasingly became the subject of wave after wave of new musical styles driven by the rise of the diva. From an age where women were mostly portrayed as being very girly and graceful, and men were men, these girls turned the tables on society and their man and made their own way.
And what a way it was, through Mary Wells and Dinah Washington via Martha Reeves and The Ronettes to Aretha Franklin, LaBelle and Cher – an era where the gloom of war was thoroughly shaken off and replaced by glitz, glamour and the disco ball.
Vintage Vixens promises a stunning night of live music and dance, with songs to get you out of your seat from Sway to Lady Marmalade, and some humour along the way as this uplifting show explores the rise of the 'girls' and their influence on music and men. The 8 Vintage Vixens will enchant and entertain you: it’s a show you won’t want to miss!
Saturday 3rd November 2018 - 7.30pm Tickets are £18/20 Adults and £16/18 Concessions. The prices above include all Booking & Moneyhandling Fees and are the total price you will pay

Went to see Vicky Jackson last night. Excellent performance and what a voice!!. Shame about audience participation? Lack of young people in audience avg age 60 not good! As Amy Winehouse, pink, and lady ga ga, not suitable to these listeners. Other problem lack of audience 80..100 poor turn out. But I enjoyed as other shows have rocked the spa pavilion it's the place to be.

User

Went to Spa Pavillion for breakfast yesterday and enjoyed it very much, the meal full english breakfast was a delight , cooked well and the food had brilliant flavour right down to the tomato, service very friendly and surroundings comfortable, if i had to make a little winge , the stainless steel teapot spout did not pour without spillage, but overall a lovely breakfast

User

We went there yesterday, for coffee and a breakfast sandwich this place is so beautiful and service was excellent views are breathtaking especially as the sun was shining xx

User

We held our Xmas wedding meal here at the Spa - what a great place - food was , service was , atmosphere was , attention to detail was , totally pleasantly surprised - cannot fault a single thing - thank you so much Spa Pavillion Restaurant- see you 1st March for Roy Chubby Brown whooop! Xx Merry Xmas & happy new year to you all xx

User

We had an excellent Valentines dinner and dance with a very good cabaret singer Chelsea.

The food was excellent with good service and I’m sure that we would do it again next year.

User

It was a good night out, the heating was so good it got to hot in there, drinks we're flowing, everyone was happy, toilets we're clean and lots of staff everywhere to help, ice-cream was served in the interval, I think it is a great venue.

User

I know this is meant to be a “customer review” but this must be said....

I have performed at the Spa Pavilion on a number of occasions, in various shows, as a show producer, principal player and as a band member. I can say without doubt that, from any point of view, I have never been treated better in any venue, regardless of my position in the show.

The staff, and the management, are all very friendly, helpful and very professional. They are, collectively, the very best!

User

I have only been twice, once in July 2017 ( Motown) and again in September 2017 ( The Tina Turner Experience). I was very impressed with the venue, a nice size , friendly atmosphere etc. On both visits I felt that the temperature was well controlled , but I haven't been in winter !

Both shows were brilliant, encouraging the audience to clap along, sing and even dance in the aisles! (The Motown show was particularly successful in this! )

I will most certainly be back for more, and I will have to try the food too.

Lovely to see the Spa Pavilion open again. Long may it last.

User

Fabulous and G4 were brilliant can’t wait to go in May to see forbidden nights and to see les musicals

User

AMAZING!! The staff were great and very helpful. The pantomime Aladdin was absolutely brilliant and our whole family ranging from 70+ right down to 2years old loved it. Laughs and cheers all round.

User

We had tea/coffee and fruit scones yesterday. We went at 3.15 and they only had coffee walnut cake left so must have been very busy with half term. Staff were very pleasant and food arrived quickly. I had fair trade earl grey tea which was tasteless. Nothing beats Twinings and my husband's black coffee was also tasteless. Scones were large but came with 2 butters. No jam sadly. Scones were on the firm side. It's nice sitting in the sun looking out to sea but think the nearby Clifftop tea rooms is nicer.

User

Went to see Navi last night, show was OK, Theatre was far to hot as NO A/c it's old and in need of a revamp ,seats squashed in, would advise to take your own drinks in as 3 cans of Pepsi £5.40.....yes £5.40 daylight robbery.

User

My visit to the Spa on Saturday to see Carpenters Gold was enjoyable apart from feeling very cold under the air conditioning. I felt as though I was sitting on the beach on a very cold night. Was it necessary to operate air conditioning this time of year when the weather was very cold outside?

User

Whitney Houston tribute was ok , but the sound was not good .we we’re In Row q could not hear the words to well . Wonder was ok but should have mixed the show up a bit more . Some of Whitney and Wonder . It would have been better if Whitney talked to the audience a bit . Left early £5 for 2 ice creams .!!!!!! Not much atmosphere. Cold as well .

User

Not enough security staff to stop alcohol from being brought near the stage when people dancing, couldn’t do their job properly in stopping people getting on the stage among the group doing Bee Gees Tribute, would like my money back for a ruined evening on May 5th 2018 as we sat in DISABLED seating but our view was obliterated by able bodied people’s ignorance.

User

Have been to several shows at the Spa and always enjoyed them. But recently went to Rock of Ages and left very disappointed. 5 of us in our party and none of us could hear what was being spoken or sung by individuals, we could only hear when the group was singing as a whole. It seems people towards the front could hear but we were back in row T. I have twice emailed Ray Anderson and so far he can’t be bothered to respond. I like to support local venues but until Ray has the decency to reply I won’t be visiting the Spa again.

User

Although the show was amazing and couldn’t be faulted in any way, the disabled access to the theatre is appalling. A very steep ramp at the front to doors which do not automatically open, leaving you in the cold until someone noticed you there. The spaces for wheelchairs is on a slope which is dangerous in my opinion although the staff did supply wooden chocks. Not ideal.

It was only at the end of the show was a side door opened to allow wheelchair users out. Great but why isn’t it used as an entrance?!!! Sad to say I will not be returning as the experience spoilt the evening.

User

This lunchtime, ordered hot drinks and cooked food. The drinks came promptly and nearly an hour after ordering, we were sitting hungry and increasingly agitated still waiting for the food to arrive. Hardly anyone else around although staff were moving about with drinks for other patrons. Someone finally asked 'if we were alright?' and then discovered our order 'chit' on the wall above the till not taken through to the kitchen due to a 'changeover of staff.'.. Apologies and free meal and drinks offered, but we chose to pay for the drinks regardless and walk straight home for a boring sandwich :( Such a shame as we used to enjoy visits here for a cuppa and something to eat. We'll have to think twice now before visiting again...

User

Deeply saddened of what I hear been twice before and it’s been very nice. My parents went into eat for lunch and they were very disappointed with the food they asked for a refund but the Manager was not in to assist and no one else could refund this is not acceptable.
