"Other evidence of connections to Greece came from a number of exquisite bronze figurines of birds excavated from the tomb site. These were made with a lost wax technique known in Ancient Greece and Egypt."

Such a pleasure to work on this project! These were taken just before she was whisked off to her final homes.

Here is a glimpse of the second edition of Amy Johnson! She is being unveiled in Hull this Friday. Such a pleasure to work on this project - BIG congratulations to all involved, both in Herne Bay and Hull, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of this pioneering aviatrix.

User

Hopefully some of you have seen the sculpture unveiled in Herne Bay, so here is our story of the project, with a video of Steve modelling Amy Johnson in clay prior to casting - Hope you enjoy!

Exciting news! We will be starting to unveil the newer version of ourselves over the coming weeks, with lots to talk about and new opportunities to come. Have a look at our first blog - we will be posting weekly about all the things going on behind our doors (and outside of them). Most importantly, however, there is a rather addictive countdown to our launch on our new website, so why not pass the time watching time pass by...

User

Such an exciting day! Can't wait for the unveiling.

If you have a spare 3 minutes, do spend them watching our time-lapse video... Here is Steve creating the maquette for Amy Johnson Herne Bay - we hope you enjoy! Video credit goes to our very own intern, Dan.

Very excited to be involved in such a big project to commemorate the pioneering aviatrix, Amy Johnson. We are currently in the maquette stages for 2 statues to be unveiled next year! Hop on over to the Amy Johnson Herne Bay page to see what's been going on lately, to read recent press on the project, or if you'd like to get involved to help with fundraising! We hope you enjoy the sneak peek...

This Sunday, we are very excited to be attending the unveiling of the Gurkha memorial (commemorating 200 years of service) in Folkestone. It's been a project that has taken nearly 7 years to come to fruition, so it's great to see everyone's hard work and fundraising reach this point! The link below takes you to a video of the artwork here in the foundry, alongside the artist who discusses the piece.
