Thanks go to Isaac who joined us from Simian at yesterday's Technical Day. Isaac joined our team of instructors to take part in the safe lifting demo. This was just one of the safe working solutions for the construction industry being discussed during the afternoon.

The event aimed to raise awareness of the use of safety equipment, related risks when working at height and provide the latest advice and guidance. Delegates from a wide range of companies attended and spent an afternoon here at our training centre discussing safe working solutions for the construction industry. We were also delighted to be joined by representatives from Health and Safety Executive and CITB. Special thanks to all who came along and took part.

When we saw this photo we were worried that our height safety instructor Justin had left us to pursue a new career on the stage. Luckily for us (and perhaps Manchester theatre goers!) he was there in his capacity as height safety instructor. He had been conducting a climbing course for the lighting & sound engineers for the Book or Mormon at the Palace Theatre Manchester and couldn't resist getting front stage for a quick photo. We think you're a star Justin

🐝 High Flying Hazards🐝 The hazards of working at height should not be underestimated. SpanSet's training instructors have years of experience of working at height, however, even they sometimes encounter unexpected difficulties. Whilst working in Qatar, completing the final element of an Advanced Climber training course, a colony of hornets took a fancy to the training structure and moved in. Our training manager, Sam had to persuade them to 'buzz off' before he could complete the training.

SpanSet equipment can be used in many different industries & environments. This week our trainer Justin conducted a climbing course with the lighting & sound engineers for The Book of Mormon at The Palace Theatre, Manchester. The next day he was 250ft above the same street just 1 mile away, using the same equipment but at the top of a tower crane with a rescue team. @PalaceandOpera

Sam our Training Manager has just got back from Doha, Qatar where he was delivering work at height and rescue training for the instructors at Qatar International Safety Centre. QISC are providers of Health & Safety, Fire Prevention, Work at Height & Rescue and Offshore Survival training for the oil and gas industry in the Gulf. According to Sam they have a great training facility with professional instructors who are passionate about the courses they deliver. However, we hope Sam packed plenty of sunscreen for his trip. Whilst back home we were complaining about the lack of a Summer, Sam was 'enjoying' daily temperatures of 45 degrees! 😎 #RescueTraining #WorkatHeight #OffshoreSafetyTraining #QISC

All the courses are approved and certified by SpanSet. We are proud to be associated with Gareth and the GSS Group.
