About Special Interest Group Of Municipal Authorities (Sigoma)

The Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities (SIGOMA) is the collective voice of urban areas, representing 47 urban authorities in the northern, midland, and south-coat regions of England. Our councils are some of the most deprived in England and represent 14 million people and around 25% of council funding. We provide an authoritative and influential voice on local government finance and other government proposals and legislation, to ensure that our members are well-informed, and their circumstances considered in central government policy. Our aim is to provide valuable representation to ensure that our members have the sufficient, sustainable, and fair funding they need to provide vital services to their communities.
