User

Had my diabetic test absolutely totally kind, professional services. Explained everything to me, even showed me photos theyd taken.

User

Great service in store and all staff seemed very polite, friendly and organised

User

Excellent service from start to finish, highly recommend.

User

Service was definitely not wheelchair friendly. Had to struggle to get out of my chair for them to start initial tests...however once with optician Steven he made the experience a lot easier.

User

I was impressed with the professional and friendly approach particularly from the optician Steven, who was very clear, reassuring and caring.

I was less impressed when I agreed to pick up my prescription sunglasses on Tuesday with a weeks notice to be contacted the day before and told there was a delay. I'd arranged my day off specifically to collect my glasses and then turned down a great training opportunity at work.

Frustrating.

User

I paid over £300 for glasses and they were either made incorrectly or my prescription was wrong. Had refund

Well in my very first appointment, I arrived early and appointment time wasn't met, I had to wait 10-15 minutes. In my second appointment, due to traffic and bus coming late I arrived to my appointment 3 minutes late ( appointment was 13:35, been in 13:38). Had rung them 13:26 that I maybe late due to traffic but the lady who received my call told me at once that I just lost that appointment. I still went to Specs though to buy a new pair of eyeglasses since my old specs had scratches giving me blurred vision. I told the lady from the desk to just use my previous eye test result but she coursed me to another woman. This other woman told me that it was not possible to buy a new pair unless I undergo another eye check. I told her I just lost my appointment for having been late for 3 minutes and couldnt book for another appointment for this month as fully booked doing night shifts. I told her how uncomfortable I was with my scratched eyeglasses but she still insisted she couldnt do anything about it unless I undergo another eye check. Just felt so disappointed and helpless.

Uninformed staff wasted an hour of my time this week. Despite having the full information and prescription, the price almost doubled from beginning to end, with the excuse that "Clare got it wrong"! It turned out that it would cost £170 rather than the £89 all in price given at the beginning. I took the prescription back and spoke to the very helpful ladies at Tesco Brockworth and have the prescription sunglasses required for £69.

Told me glasses were a perfect fitted well umm don't think so they fall off!! Idiot this is the second time I have had bad service from spec save the first time it was witnessed by another staff member. Tried to call the manager about her behaviour left messages for manager to call me back and yet no returned calls.

User

Today I had the most rude member of staff come from god knows where and ask my children not to drink in store. Absolutely fine, I asked them to put the lids on. I had been too busy trying to book my youngest daughter an appointment to scold them myself. However that wasn't good enough, she then demanded they be placed into a bag. I asked why they couldn't simply hold them. She looked at me with disgust!

This woman has an appalling way with customers, she made me and my children feel very self conscious and it was made 10 times worse because the whole store and staff were staring at us whilst we were told off.

I walked out and won't be returning.

She wasn't even the person dealing with the booking.

Simon Jones Have to comment on how embarrassed and disappointed I was with the service I received today in my local store Specsavers Opticians Gloucester. I work for the NHS so was entitled to a free ye test & glasses. After having my eyes checked I informed the Optician about my voucher and was told that unfortunately I did not quality for this as I would not solely be using these for VDU and this voucher was a grey matter but meant I wouldn't be able to claim for glasses. After telling him that I would only be using this these glasses at work on my computer, he thought about it for some time and said "that might work and I'll have to talk with my manager to confirm", Come back and said this should be ok. Disappointment 1.

Had my contact lens check and the lovely lady informed me that I should be able to use my voucher for buy 1 get one free on Premium £99 + glasses and would get £69 off! Great news I thought, will look into these. Nice and helpful.

After finding 4 pairs of glasses I potentially wanted I talked with a lady and asked about the NHS offers and the Premium offer. I was told that if I were to use the buy 1 get 1 free voucher that I would have to pay the excess on both glasses so would have to pay glasses price - voucher price x 2 (so remained price x two).

Disappointment 2.

Then I was greeted by the Optician again and he told that unfortunately I wouldn't be eligible for the buy 1 get 1 free offer as I was using a NHS voucher and was only eligible for 1 offer per Specsavers visit.

Disappointment 3.

After some time trying to discuss what I was officially entitled to and being shut down (in full view of the whole store and my girlfriend) with "no sorry you are only entitled to 1 offer" I asked the lady if I could talk with the manager.

Disappointment 4.

The lady tutted, walked away, slammed her clipboard on the counter,

Disappointment 5.

Talked with the manager, came back and said actually I am entitled to buy 1 get 1 but only on the £99 and above range.

Disappointment 6.

The optician sharply walked away, with no apology, nothing.

Disappointment 7.

After talked with my girlfriend I was that embarrassed and disappointment by the whole experience and having been there from 15.50 till closing! I just wanted to leave the store. Asked if I could come back tomorrow as I was shaken and didn't like how I was treated. I was told that I had to choose my glasses now and wouldn't be able to come back tomorrow as the voucher would be invalid.

Disappointment 8.

After the manager overhearing this she said I had 7 days to claim my voucher. Went to the cashier desk for a receipt I wasn't given an apology.

DISAPPOINTMENT 9!!!

I hesitant to guess who else this has happened too and has walked away disappointed with only 1 pair of glasses (when they are entitled to 2) or even not taken away any glasses at all! that they are actually entitled too!!

What is my actual entitlement being a Civil Servant??

Please can I ask why I was treated in this manner??

Will I be getting an apology?

And will the people that have been treated in this ill way be contacted to rectify this??
