Book an eye test today at Specsavers

User

Yesterday was the first time I had attended Specsavers, & I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the staff were all very friendly & helpful. The optician who did my eye test was particularly helpful, explaining everything to me, as I have to be referred to the eye hospital. I also have to have diabetic screening, It was all a much better experience than the previous opticians I attended.

User

Was seen by a wonderful gentleman optometrist. My little boy and I were given excellent treatment, can’t praise him enough. I have been going to a different opticians for glasses the last few times, but will now stick to spec savers.

User

So just back from the royal eye infirmary.

I've got to have laser surgery on both eyes to prevent getting acute glaucoma that could have potentially lead to me loosing my sight.

It just goes to show YOU MUST listen to your body and take the needed action, thanks to Specsavers for spotting it and getting me a fast referral for investigation.

User

Myself and my two children were looked after really well, despite the place being busy, we weren’t waiting ages or made to feel rushed when choosing from a great selection of glasses.

Lovely staff too.

I cannot recommend the optician I saw on Monday highly enough. I'd just had a contact lens test and was told I'd been wearing them too much. I then had an eye test and told her the reason I wore my contact lenses so much was because I hated my glasses. She marched me downstairs for a fashion parade of styles that she thought would suit me. I loved the first pair she picked and it was not a pair I'd ever have tried on myself. She spent lots of time with me making me try many different styles on and we both agreed on the ones she's picked first throughout. She was so lovely and made the appointment the best eye test experience I've ever had. I can't work out her name from her signature on my record card but it's something like leageus. I hope she gets this message and I hope she's still there when I have my next appointment. An absolute credit to your company!

User

Had eye test today, a little nervous, so brought hubby with me... can I say, they were absolutely amazing!!! Appt was 9.50, went in on time, optician was the loveliest lady ever, I didn't catch her name, so informative & so helpful. Previous visits haven't always gone so well, but being a nurse I fully understand when dealing with appointments & people, it's not always guaranteed. The guy who did the fitting ... Qasim, was equally professional. Lovely man. Thank you so much Specsavers!!

User

All the staff I've encountered here are lovely, but major points to Hayley Rendle who served me this morning. Lovely, cheerful lady and very helpful. She helped me pick glasses that look good, she also took time to show me frames she knew I wasn't going to buy, but I fancied a gawp at them anyway. She is a credit to you, Specsavers. Thank you so much, Hayley!

User

After 2 years of trying to use varifocals from another optician, I discovered that they were the wrong prescription. Service from this branch has been great - glasses arrived quickly and I can actually use them and they also keep my contact lenses in stock as well so I don’t need to order in and then make another trip to collect. Appointments are available to suit and have so far been either on or ahead of time.

User

When we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful, I was a bit nervous because I have never had my eyes tested but all the staff were great 🤓

User

You branch in city centre is a joke. I was told Monday my glasses would be ready on the 12th get in there for 9.15 only to be told they aren't even ready or even in store. Then to be told by a lady yesterday to pop in today for after lunch as they would be ready. Luckily I rang as the glasses won't be ready till the 15th. Someone put it through as urgent the 8th april. What a bleddy joke you are. Won't be coming back after I get my glasses from you on Saturday. I've never had such hassle from your other branches in plymouth.

User

In there for 2 hours yesterday, appt was for 2:50 ,when I booked the week previous it was for 2:30,got there at 2:20 so was there 10 mins early . Did not have our eyes tested til 3:45,eventually got out of there at 4:20.staff were very friendly and did eventually explain that they were running a little behind, but a phonecall to say they were running late would have been nice instead of sitting for ages.

User

I've been coming to you with my child for 5 yrs. My last eye appointment was nearly 4 hrs. My son had his yesterday. Appointment at 3.30 left just before 6pm. Ridiculous waiting times. Maybe you should make the appointments slightly longer then you wouldn't have people waiting hours I won't be coming back next year. The times are just not acceptable

User

I am really fed up with my whole experience. Had trouble with my new prescription, can't wear my new glasses they make me have a headache, same problem with my sunglasses. I have emailed then twice and they haven't bothered to get back to me. Have to end up going to trading standards. Awful place.

User

The optician was first class, very helpful and interested in what I had to say and friendly. The rest of the service was poor. We were in there exactly 2 hours - my eye test was about 15 mins.. a lot of staff were stood around chatting to each other. In particular a lady came in to have her glasses tightened and the girl proceeded to stand in the corner with a couple of the other staff chatting about what she had for tea the night before. After all that my partners glasses won't be ready for exactly a week! Not looking forward to the return visit.. Don't park your car in Drake Circus expecting to be an hour... Awful

User

It has taken almost six weeks, for Specsavers to make up my husband's glasses twice to the wrong prescription. Despite him, complaining that he couldn't focus correctly through them. Then another retest to get the correct prescription and then after waiting half an hour over the appointment time, today, they made them correct but forgot the tint.

It would mean waiting for at least another 10 days plus, would have discounted 50% but they wouldn't have been ready in time for when they were needed.

Decided on a full refund and will take my business elsewhere.

User

I have always used Specsavers but the last visit I wasn't happy.

Prescribed wrong pair which caused me migraines then to be changed to another pair which was even worse I couldn't focus and was getting dizzy with them.

Went to another opticians and they said u was prescribed wrong glasses and gave me right prescription and new glasses ordered.

I am not impressed at all Specsavers your going down hill and it's like a conveyer belt 1in 1 out and rushed.

I have been using Specsavers since I was child and I won't be anymore neither will my daughter as I won't have my girls eyes messed up at all.

I did get refund today as I was fuming and wasted money on pair glasses I couldn't wear as was your fault for messing them up.

Maybe take customers complaints serious as I have been struggling for few months and could have caused damage in long term

User

Dissapointing! Last time I was here the service was amazing. Today I have walked out after being forgotten about. Waiting around too long. Poor poor service.

Update: Went back after rescuing the Missus from the kids throwing a tantrum only to have it confirmed they never even put my name on the list from eye test to choosing glasses. Messed up our plans for the whole day. Cheers very much. If I get the same experience upon collection I will never use you again.

User

Afraid I'm going to have to start looking elsewhere for my contact lenses, had them with you for 21 years but I've never had a worse period in that time than the last 6 months. Don't know if you have changed suppliers but the lenses are tearing and unwearable and I'm ringing up every couple weeks needing new ones!

User

Absolutely shocking. My granddaughter has been coming here for 3-4 years. Recently she's been complaining of headaches, as her eye test was due, we decided to take her to Tesco opticians instead only to be told that the glasses being prescribed for my granddaughter were totally wrong. She apparently needs two totally different lenses, yet spec savers have been putting the same lens in both eyes. Plus the lens they've been prescribing is far too strong for my granddaughter. Tesco were totally shocked with what they have found and have now prescribed new glasses were one lens is stronger than the other.

They have also given my daughter in law a written report of all the things they found wrong with my granddaughters glasses, so she can make an official complaint.

Tesco said if my daughter in law had continued to take my granddaughter there, then she would have had very serious eye problems once she reached her teens that would no doubt result in surgery being needed.

SPECSAVERS, you ought to be totally ashamed with yourselves.

Absolutely shocking service.
