SPI Piling Ltd have been awarded and have been working hard at Ouse Washes, Ely. This project comprises of 2 visits. Visit 1 was for SPI Piling Ltd to install sheet piles either side of the river to enable them to build up a new working platform, this platform was used for the set up of a mobile crane to dismantle an the existing bridge and to replace with the new bridge. SPI Piling Ltd, have been awarded a large cut off wall project by story Contracting Ltd with the consulting Engineers being Cluttons. The scheme involves the installation of 893nr GU27N Sheet Piles varying in length from 4.0m to 6.5m. The piles are installed through the gravels and cobbles and will toe into the underlying mudstone to create a cut off. The piles are left protruding 1.2m above ground level to prevent the factory from flooding when the flood waters are a the highest level from the River Derwent which previously flooded in November 2009 & December 2015 causing extensive damage to the 16,000sqm James Walker Factory. https://deedeesmithspi.wordpress.com/…/ james-walker-factor…/

Works recently completed by Raynesway Construction Ltd (Balfour Beatty Group) at Colintraive & Rhubodach Slipway. Works were carried out for Caledonian Maritime assets, for the replacement slipway and associated works.
SPI Piling Ltd were employed under NEC Option B subcontract for the Supply, and installation of tubular bearing piles, 508mm diameter in lengths up to 24m long. Piles were installed using our own ABI TM20 Telescopic Leader Rig, with MRZV30VV (1500kN) Variable M...oment Vibratory hammer. A number of Steel Sheet piles were also installed on a second visit, nearing the completion of the main works by Raynesway Construction Ltd.
SPI were delighted to complete the works on time and on budget for Raynesway Construction.

Isle of Skye We have been back up to the Isle of Skye, Kyleakin. Works are now complete. Well done to the team for a fantastic job.
