Our design team understands how tiny details can have a huge impact on the overall aesthetic, such as these polished stainless steel details which perfectly highlight the wooden treads and glass balustrade.

We're up early at Spiral HQ and ready to start on a brand new project this Monday morning!

Adopting a method that we've been using successfully for decades, here we're checking that this helically rolled handrail has been rolled correctly and will fit on the glass balustrade perfectly. Will still use this method today to roll all of our steel handrails.

Creating tread boards for a client, from start to finish!

This elegant, double-flight, helical staircase with contrasting handrail and treads, was installed in North London and featured in a popular TV commercial!
Constructed in steel which was spray painted white on site, the treads are custom designed and fabricated from solid Corian.

The world renowned opera house Glyndebourne is just a mile up the road from Spiral HQ, so we were thrilled to be asked to produce a stair for their production of ‘Pelleas et Melisande’.
This was a particularly challenging job because as a piece of the stage set, it was necessary for this stair to be mobile, which given its size and weight is quite a tall order. It also had to be able to be set on fire!

Our design process has changed somewhat since the early-80's, with the introduction of CAD software… and the office has got a little tidier too!
We now use the most cutting-edge technology to design staircases which means that customers can see 3D mock-ups of their installation in situ.
