Went in on 2/3/17 for Arthroscopic Subacromial Decompression on my right shoulder - had a fantastic experience, huge thanks to my very friendly & very helpful nurse Lynne Gilbert who looked after me all day, kept the coffee coming and was brilliant! All the theatre staff, anaesthetist & surgeon were excellent as was the equally lovely post-op nurse. Thank you Spire for making my stay really great! Robyn Romano

User

Wat a amazing experience!! My first visit there for a hernia operation. The nurses, anethitest, consultant nd even the lady who took my sandwich order made me feel so comfortable nd welcome!! I would 100% recommended this care.for anyone. I had my own room, my mum was allowed to stay nd had constant check ups from the nurses, I'm not home resting nd in a lot of pain but if I'd had to stay in all night I definitely wouldn't have complained!! Best cup of tea ever aswell

This is my 4th op that I have had at Spire over the past 20 years or so

My experience has always been very positive from reception, nurses, healthcare workers and surgeons

The one to one care you receive is second to none and I'd recommend Spire to all

Last visit was yesterday for a shoulder arthroscopy with Duncan Watkinson and a lovely soft spoken aneathasist I can't remember his name

But all 5* treatment

Thankyou

User

Thank you to all the staff for looking after my husband as he had his hip replacement done with you Saturday morning. You were all great we felt at ease all the way throughout his stay. You helped me understand how to look after him when he for home so a big thank you. Hope you all enjoy your chocolates xx

User

Spinal surgery under Mr Maclaren. First class surgery and brilliant aneasthestist with excellent service and facilities from the ward staff and housekeeping. Only slight letdown was no offer of pain relief from registration to surgery which was delayed due to an emergency requiring the operating theatre. Overall I would use the Spire for all future requirements.

User

My husband went to Spire Hospital for a knee replacement on Wednesday 14th Sept.

Mr Cossey was my husbands Consultant, such a gentleman with an amazing bedside manner.

Talked my husband through what he was going to do. He has successfully replaced my husbands right knee, doing as always an amazing job. I can say this due to the fact that he did my husbands left knee 6 years ago.

Anu Barli my husbands Anesthetist was also amazing, she took my husband through her process discussing at length his pain management after the op.

Lovely caring bedside manner visible at all times.

I would also like to thank all the team on Ward one, making us feel so welcome & nothing was to much trouble. Special thanks to two very dedicated nurses, Louise & Sarah they looked after my husband for most of his stay.

User

My husband has been a patient at the Spire Portsmouth under the care of Dr Katherine Bradley -oncologist and Mr Costa Repanos - ENT surgeon for the past year and he has received excellent care. The Oncology unit led by CNS Corinne And her team of outstanding, kind and compassionate nurses made what was a traumatic time bearable for us. I would highly recommend the services offered by them to anyone .

User

Looked after extremely well. A big thanks to my surgeon Mr Harvey who was very efficient and eased any concerns I had. Also a huge thanks to Rose, Tanya and Charlotte for treating me like a King from the first minute to the last, especially Charlotte who bought me tea and toast all through my sleepless night. Highly recommended. Many thanks.

User

Just want to say a huge thank you to the staff who looked after me on Wednesday 20th december. when i had a shoulder decompression done. The staff where amazing at making me feel at ease. My quirky needs where met and i had so side effects to the anaesthetic which was a huge fear. I really want to thank the nurse Andreia Brotas she was so lovely and friendly helping to keep my nerves down and even having a giggle with my partner and i . Even after surgery she was lovely making sure i was ok making sure i had everything i needed for my comfort and also before i left. Thank you so much.....The surgeon Mr Harper was also brilliant but i knew that anyway as he had operated on the other side a few years back. Sadly i can't remember the names of the others in the operating theatre but they were also amazing. I wish you all a very merry christmas and a huge thank you..

User

Just had an overnight stay after having ACL reconstruction. Amazing staff they make you feel at home. All the nurses on the ward (ward 2) couldn’t do enough for you always made sure you felt alright. Physios were also very good and helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable aswel. Can now see why so many people go private now.

User

I've just had hip replacement surgery at the Spire, the NHS (god bless it) asked if i would be happy to have the op done there.!! Well let me tell you people. It is luxury personified, from the lady who brings your cup of tea,to the surgeon who performs the op,i could not have been treated or better informed if they tried,it really is a magnificent place, with magnificent people. So i would like to thank everybody at the Spire for everything they did for me,i have to have the other one done,i can only hope i'm sent there again.!!!! Thank you all so much.

User

I would like to say thank you to everyone that works at spire starting at the reception and finishing with the porter taking me on a wheelchair to the car park. And a special thank you for my consultant MR Flynn he was amazing .

They made me feel so welcomed when I had my surgery. The spire team are amazing very professional and friendly, the facilities are like a 5* hotel. Loved it , highly recommend to everyone.

User

I went in for an Arthroscopic surgery. My second visit to the spire. From start to finish the whole experience was very friendly and relaxing. From booking in to leaving everything was explained so no surprises. Will definitely recommend this hospital to my friends

User

I had rhinoplasty performed by Tim Mellor on the 5th Jan. Everyone, from the nurse that walked me to theatre, to the lovely anaesthetist that kept me calm and the nurses that cared for me after, I cannot fault them. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt like my care and wellbeing was their absolute priority at all times. Was better than being in a 5* hotel! Would've happily stayed another night! Thanks to all at this lovely hospital :)

User

I had recent Rhinoplasty undertaken by the amazing Mr Timothy Mellor on 18th May, extremely happy with my results! Tim and his wife Lin really were great, before/after surgery, the care and attention throughout was unforgettable.

Fantastic hospital filled with caring staff from the receptionists, to the caterers, the nurses, the anaesthetists and so on. A special thank you to night shift nurse Carla who looked after me on what I'd anticipated to be a daunting night alone over night - turned out to be a very relaxed, friendly and welcoming stay. If I could give more than 5* I would!

User

I had fantastic care at the Spire in Portsmouth. The whole team were caring and knowledgeable. After a disappointing stay in an NHS hospital, the team in the Spire put my faith back in the nursing profession.

User

I had a torn rotator cuff repair and stayed in for one night. The staff were wonderful, kind, attentive and very understanding. The hospital was immaculately clean and the food was really good.

Can’t thank you all enough.

User

Cannot recommend this place enough. I’ve always been very self conscious about my nose. Had rhinoplasty by Dr Mellor and I finally feel confident in the way I look. Made me feel very at ease before and after the surgery. A big thank you Dr Mellor and Lin and all the spire team for all your kindness.

User
